I would go for: 1.) Banks, 2.) Fox and 3.) Farmer.
Worst?
Mine: 1.) Marshall, 2.) Pressman, 3.) Southall.
Thoughts???

Yep. Seriously, in my time, it has to be Peter Shilton, Peter Fox, Mark Crossley. Jason Kearton, remember him?........Brilliant shotstopper.

Peter Shilton was my hero (I got Peter Shilton gloves for Xmas circa 1976) but he was not at his best for Stoke. Yep, Jason Kearton...great shotstopper, what happened to him??? could have had a good career at Stoke. What about Harrison from '82/83...decent goalie who covered for Foxy, but then what???

Do the people who have put shilton in there lost actually remember him playing for stoke?
He wasn't at his best during his time with us at all
Also... Sorro pushing fox for third place?.... I really don't think so

I can't see why Farmer is getting so many votes. He had a lot of skill but also had trouble with his nerves and made more than his share of howlers.
My top 3 would be:
1. Banks 2. Fox 3. Soro
At Stoke I doubt if Shilton would make my top six - although he was excellent everywhere else!

Obviously, 1 = Banks and 2 = Peter Fox.
For me no.3 would be Marrk Crossley for saving us from a return to oblivion.
Don't do 'worsts' - too sad!

Banks Shilton Farmer
Worst in my time was Bobby Irvine. Waddo sacked him after the final straw of 3rd round fa cup tie at home to walsall , think it was 1967-68, when irvine had one howler too many , walsall won so he never played for us again.

Of the ones I saw in a Stoke shirt
1-fox 2-Sorro 3-Crossley
I did see shilton in my first ever game v Leicester when I was 5 however too young to remember him. roger Jones was the first keeper I remember for a period of time and though young I remember him making some silly mistakes however making some decent saves too.
If I was to list my first ever team of players from my young memory that I remember I'd go with
Jones Marsh Scott Dodd Smith Waddington Conroy Heath Bracewell Chapman Crooks
I remember Jeff Salmons however only because I loved his name.

I can't understand the votes for Shilton. Fair enough he was a good goalkeeper but he was average at best in his time at Stoke.
