...just seen their winner and he should have done better.
Shame because he acquitted himself admirably apart from that.

Yep he should of had it, but having said that he made a decent save down to his right earlier on where Sorro might not of got it, all if's n buts.

My heart sank when Tommy went off but Simmo was outstanding, haven't seen that last goal again yet but the match would have been lost long before that without some excellent work from Simmo.

Keeping mistake for the second goal and Whelan lost the ball to Lampard for the first.
A harsh assessment, but it is the one TP will make.

Malouda put some velocity on that shot and wasn't from that far out through a few bodies. You have to be incredibly harsh to blame Simmo for that. If Sorensen was in goal, no one would question him on the goal.

Simonsen did a good job with his shot-stopping. He kept out a few shots and made a decent save off that free-kick that came in low. He should have done better with that though.

We're putting our goalie in a hopeless position with so many players in the box. This could have happened many times during the second half.

Thought simmo did well, especially on crosses, where he is normally well, poor.

My first impression was that while it was a well-hit shot, he should have kept it out.
Simmo isn't quite up to being a Premiership keeper, so hopefully Sorensen won't be out for too long.

My mum looked horrified when Simmo came on. And then i told her he'd do fine, she calmed. And then she had a fit when he saved that freekick, had a good game imo.

Its not quite the same with simmo in goal. Not got the same sort of reassurance youve got with tommy, Its just uncomfortable. He doesn't shout or is not commanding in the air and shite at taking high balls from crosses/set peices. He was at fault for the goal today as well, Should've saved it. I pray Sorro has a speedy recovery or we could be in trouble I'm afraid...

The shot looked like it was deflected upwards to me, didn't look like Simmos fault .

We spent the whole of the last 15 minutes camped in our own third of the pitch. Chelsea just had to try various permutations to unlock our overcrowded defence, so it was only a matter of time (allowed). I'll be amazed tonight if MOTD blame Simmo for the goal.

From the Boothen End, I thought Simmo had a fantastic game. Lampard's deflected free kick would've gone under Sorensen's arm and Simmo threw himself at Drogba and Malouda on a couple of occasions. He came out for crosses well and grabbed some high balls, that in the past he would've flapped at or stayed on his line. You can criticise Simmo for not coming out for every cross, but I think that today he came out for every one that he should've done. Cech was at fault for Abdy's goal. He was caught in no mans land, and I prefer a keeper that is decisive rather than one that get's beaten coming out for crosses that he can't get.
Simmo is probably the best competition we are likely to get for Tommy. Some of you have very short memories. Simmo has served us very well down the years and remember that run of clean sheets he had the other year? People should get off his back and support him. I know it's not ideal to have Tommy injured, but I have every confidence in Simmo that he will give his all and will put in a number of competent performances. I'd rather have him as backup than the calamities of Julian Speroni, Roy Carroll and Gabor Kiraly who have been No.1s for bottom half teams in recent years.

I'm still massively disappointed we didn't go in for Nash after the effort he put in for us at the end of last season To be fair, Nasher was good at the end of the promotion season, but he wasn't considerably better than Simonsen. Wasn't he about 36 at the time and he did command a transfer fee when he switched from Wigan to Everton which was quite steep considering his age and ability. In Tommy we have a younger and better goalkeeper for less than Nash would've cost. I don't know why people are questioning our goalkeeping situation. I think we got 2 brilliant deals - both were free transfers - and both have been brilliant servants for this club and will continue to be.

There's one angle that shows what Simmo's view was like. No chance I reckon.

ONE shot missed, for Christ's sake! How about the gaffs by his team mates? More than one missed goal. More than dozens of bad passes etc. Simmo did well.

The angle shown on MOTD showed that he had no chance, it went through Huth's legs practically. Get a grip ffs.
