Would anyone like to explain to me why the ground seemed to be half-empty at the final whistle? ???
People whinge and moan about the price of tickets and then choose to curtail watching their (winning) side by up to 10 minutes. I suppose someone is going to blame the carpark queues (another regular subject of moaning) but I just don't see this as an serious reason. Whether you leave five minutes early or stop for a cup of tea from the burger van after the final whistle you still end up sitting in the south carpark, totally gridlocked, for at least half and hour - so why do it?
What kind of damage this kind of action does to the morale of the players I would like to know, but seeing people flooding for the exits surely ends the game on a real downer for them. Talk about appreciation for a stirring fightback?! And suppose Scunny had scored an equaliser in the 84th minute, who would be left to provide the roaring, grandstand finish that would be required to see us score another?
Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere, I have checked, but have fallen foul of the rampaging 'spare wheel' moderators before ...

Yeah this has been posted quite a few times. People leave near the end to avoid queues and traffic. You cant blame them can you if the game is already won or lost. I dont see a problem with it personally.

I leave on 88 mins most games. It is so that I don't have to sit on the car park for an hour. I have a season ticket so have paid for the game. It is my decision to leave early so fuck yourself off and worry about something that matters. Also as anyone who sits near the back of block 30 will tell you it can take you 20 mins to get down the bloody stairs.

I have a season ticket, I use in the car park. Whether you leave on 88 mins or give it 10 after the final whistle you sit gridlocked. Pointless.
What other clubs see a mass exudus from grounds on 80 minutes? Embarrasing for the club IMO.
And exactly where have everyone got to be so urgently at 9:30pm on a Friday night?

We dont park on the car park so we are not stuck in traffic if we leave on the 88th minute. I cant see how it is a disgrace to the club, so a few fans leave 2 minutes before the end what club has fans that stay right till the end? there is not one. Typical stoke fan, trying to find something to moan about instead of enjoying stoke playing good football and being top of the league.
Lighten up

Yeah what a crap Stoke fan I am staying to applaud the players off the pitch.
Seems others need to 'lighten up' or 'fuck yourself off' (cheers Stafford, don't overwork those braincells eh?) IMO

So you applaud the team does that make you a better stoke fan than the people who leave early? No of course it doesn't. If people want to leave early let them its got nothing to do with you or anyone else.

Nothing accusatory in my first post - I was respoding to this from you Mezza:
"Typical Stoke fan - trying to find something to moan about instead of enjoying stoke playing good football and being top of the league."

Apologies mate. I don't mean to have a go but all this moaning is doing my head in. We are top ffs. Why do people like your good self feel the need to post moans on here that don't really matter. Were top. Enjoy it for gods sake.

So you applaud the team does that make you a better stoke fan than the people who leave early? erm, actually, yes. yes it does... not much of a supporter if you just come, watch 80 minutes of the game, then leave without giving your congratulations or appreciation to the team for the hard work that they put in are you?

Especially after they've come from behind to win in a thrilling match with a brilliant second half performance and gone top of the league!

it happens at other grounds too, old trafford last night on tv was shocking, not only had the arse fans fucked off early, but there were many areas of red seats just close to the pitch. also happens at northampton town, rushden diamonds, i go both regularly when no stoke games such as yesterday. northampton were winning 4-0 and people were leaving on 80 mins!!
just accept it happens and lets get behind stoke together. alternatively from using the car parks at the ground, parki in heron cross or fenton bowls club. 10 min walk from ground or even get a bus from stoke.

In all fairness some might have left early in the last two games to make sure they didn't have heart attacks!

Recall Tommy Smith at Liverpool , for a spell use to turn to the Kemlyn road stand ( the one replaced by the centenary stand facing the camaras) 15 minutes from the end and flash them the V's cos in another 5 minutes that's what a lot them would be doing...this at a time when Liverpool won plenty of games in the last 5 minutes

Always leave 85 - 90mins for night matches because I have the two littlens with me and its a diiference of 1 hour or 10 minutes getting off that car park (south) for the sake of leaving a couple of minutes earlier. God knows what its going to be like next season. I'll end up leaving at half time!

As said earlier those with kids , the old folk or those not so good on their feet totally no problem.
Doesn't effect the JSU too much , but think what bugs a lot of people is when others leave their seat, but then stand on the steps / by the entrances etc blocking everyone elses view and stopping those that genuinely need or want to leave early from getting out
