The John Smiths stand should be named the John Stiffs stand, there’s more atmosphere at a cremation. Take a flask of weak tea and give mild round of applause for a goal. Next thing you know you’ll have to wear a tweed jacket to get in.

Come off it JR - it IS boring in the John Smiths. Unless someone is posh like you and drinks their Earl Grey in a dainty china cup held between two fingers with your little finger sticking out sideways! ;D

"I sing"....well if you put it like that I agree. Everyone is boring apart from you then. Didn't realise it was compulsory to sit there. Ever thought of sitting somewhere else instead of moaning like an old biddy on "Points of View"...I mean the atmoshere is rocking everywhere else isn't it Would be a sad loss I agree but hey.

If ya want to sing throughout a match sit in the Boothen or Sentinal. The John Smith is for the mature supporter (or just old farts like JR ;D)

we're all Stoke fans all the same, and ive changed my opinion somewhat of the John Smiths stand No doubt they'll all be there at the playoff final like the rest of us, kitted out in there 94/95 season shirts and prawn sarnies... oooops!

I thought burberry was compulsory down in the corner by the tunnel Seems to be if the opposition have a following anyway.

Why shouldnt they be at a play off final? please explain.
Cant say I've ver seen a prawn sarnie but excellent attempt at humour.
be a sad loss if you move though, especially with your singing and all.

i dont sit in there and havent for ages but i am going to stick up for it...
the people who sit in there are still stoke fans and not everyone wants to cheer and shout all match and fair enough. they still like football as much as anyone in the boothen and we shouldnt be talking about the stand as if its a different ground. well done to all john smiths stand supporters who love football and stoke but probably just dont enjoy the "rowdeyness" of the boothen. and not everyone is a fan of bad language and you hear it everywhere in the ground, especially the boothen and sentinel.
but sentinel all the way for me, got a cracking view with good atmosphere!

Sorry I thought you posted the witty prawn sarnie comment that was all.
We've got to the stage where folk have been moaning about the lack of atmosphere in the GROUND and even some trying to start up a singing area.
if you want to be a part of it then obviously you wont sit in the JS. Until then I cant really call anywhere in the ground boring pesonally, I sat in the Sentinel and was full of kids etc which isn't my scene. wouldn't sit there again myself but dont moan or criticise those who do by saying they all wear replica kits and eat cheese strings at half time.

The John Stiffs has a proper wank atmosphere, hang on, no I’m sorry I’m wrong it hasn’t got an atmosphere! Mind you if I ever want to take my granny to a football match it’s ideal. Come on granny get yer suede booties on we’re going down t’ John Stiffs at the Brit for a quiet afternoon. ;D ;D

Me and my dad (I was going to be grammatically correct and put 'My dad and I' but thought I may be tagged posh) always go and sit in the John Smiths once we finish on our turnstiles. It normally means that there is less chance in being moved for sitting in somebody elses seat and means that since we are in the same area each week I never get a season ticket holder telling me that I only turn up for the big games as soon as I have the slightest moan (not often with recent form). I would agree that the supporters are quieter than most and with my terrible singing voice it is sometimes awkward trying to join in with the boothen/sentinel. I also feel out of place when I am unable to control the filth coming out of my mouth towards the numerous poor officials. However, boring we are not. Just this Saturday with my dad absent through illness I went and took my usual position and when our third goal went in (the first I had been at my seat for) I started my mental and ended up (don't know if I should admit this) in the arms of a bloke on the other side of the aisle. It should be remembered that Stokies in the John Smiths are just as likely to be 'True Supporters' as are supporters anywhere else in the stadium. ;D

Maybe Albert you could ask those 5000 folk what they think...the ones you surveyed about Clarke ;D Maybe if you could hear the Boothen etc they might join in. Albert, bring your grannie, she might be more fun I dont know the John Smiths stand as a whole, just a few who sit with and around us so cant like you speak about them as a unit.

Unbeliavable comments
Im a regular in the JS stand (no im not an old fart, im 23 in a month!!! oh and no im not a hooligan) and i sit behind the dugout.
Not sure where most people sit when they go in the JS stand, but if you think it was boring come and sit behind the dugout with me and i can assure it isnt boring
The banter with the opposition bench is hiliarious. Unfortunately it got way out of hand in Saturday, when the Scumsall Assistant Manager (dont know his name) thought he would ask every single young male Stoke fan to come onto the pitch and have a fight with him
Im not making this up, it was an utter disgrace. I was that shocked that i am going to write into the FA and complain about his actions
Hopefully the FA representive in the stand saw it. Even Vinny Samways was arguing with the Stoke fans
It all kicked off after there 3rd goal was disallowed (what an absolute pisser)
There Assistant Manager went running down the touchline. All the subs jumped out of the dugout and started celebrating. You could imagine the delight of the Stoke fans when the linesman flag went up
They usual "Sit down" was shouted out by the Stoke fans. This caused Samways and the Assistant Manger to go absoultey blastic.
This went on till the Final whistle and even as the Assistant Manager was walking back towards the tunnel.
Telling Stoke fans to meet him outside for a fight as he was been dragged away by a steward
This is absoutely disgraceful and if it happened in the Premership something would be done about it

Padders I always think a place to sit in a stadium is what you make it.....we have great fun like yourselves in the JS.
Surely if its boring then these folk are contributing. Let them move...will they be missed?

You'd think the Sentinel Stand etc was the hive of activity etc....
What an idiotic thread this is.
Noticed the fun behind the dug out on Saturday. This fuss re the 3rd goal is becoming a joke. It was offside end of story. Bollox to them, I'm glad after reading what you put above they got nothing from the game.

You cant go round trying to start fights with supporters in the stand

The only boring people in the JS Smith stand are the ones moaning on this thread.
If you are not happy go sit somewhere else or could it be as we are winning a number of games in a row some supporters have nothing to moan about now.

Will have a word with my Dad and tell him no tip in Vinnie Samway's pub tonight. That'll show the jug eared tw4t ;D
Smiler couldn't agree more. Nothing worse than a moaner...they have the cheek to call others boring.

I personally couldn't sit in the John Smiths stand becuase I don't find the atmosphere to be half as good as in the Boothen.
Just as in the same way I'm sure Padders and JR wouldn't like to sit in the Boothen for there respected reasons.
The solution to this discussion is easy. Nobody is FORCING anyone to sit in the John Smiths. If you don't like it, don't sit there ya daft pillock(s)
