I was talking to my mate yesterday who's a leicester fan.
He says that he doesn't think that they will want him back if they can avoid it, it seems he's upset the board, manager, fans, combination or more.
He's expecting him to sign for us later in this year.
I think that's good on a three year contract if he does, I thin he still has a good 2-3 years left.

Oh boy, I pray you're right. Would be a great short-term signing for us! Smudge

I take it the Keown rumours were way off the mark?.
Surely he could do much better than us?.

only stumbling block could ne his wage bill. other than that, would be an immense signing. didnt sound too interested on a radio stoke interview though a few weeks back. avoided questions by Nige about his future at the club, but to be fair he probably not compltetly clear on that himself.

Has anyone seen the Ian Walker incident yesterday when the fan came onto to have a go at him.
What a true prick that fan is. He got there started mouthing off and Ian Walker just pushed him to the ground and gave him some verbal back. If the F.A. even think about disciplining Walker it will them to be so 'out of touch' with the game they are supposedly running it is unbelievable
A big round of applause for Ian Walker I say

I think Walker might have been frightened of what the knobhead might do. Fair enough he might have done nothing but when someone comes at you like that you can't be sure.

Fans that run onto confront keepers tend to get a feeling akin to when they see how big the player actually is. Remember the Gavin Ward/Bristol Rovers incident? Their fan shit himself once he realised Ward was well over 6 foot and built like a brick shit house! ;D To be fair to Walker he could have punched the guy in the face because he probably said some pretty offensive things right in his face (Walker wasn't even at fault for any of the first 3 goals) but instead he chose to just push him away, perhaps foolishly in the face, and kept doing so until the ref, Marcus Bent and stewards arrived. In a rare situation like that you can't expect a player to behave in an entirely rational fashion and if the F.A. do make a big thing of it they will show themselves up as the pathetic bunch of busy-bodies that we all know they are.

What were the sodding stewards doing?

Post by Pricey on Feb 1, 2004 15:21:09 GMT
It took them a good 20 seconds or more to react. Most stewards are just there to watch the game aren't they?

The club should be having a look at their stewards and I think their should be some people getting sacked. Even fat Jeff Winter managed to run from the half way line and get there before they would have ran about 10 yards. To give credit to the fat one, he did the right things in just pulling Walker well out of the way of the incident. That's twice in two days I've praised referees (make not of that Rex )

Personally, I thought it was hilarious to see the gobshite wannabe hardman face down on the turf.
Let's hope he doesn't see the inside of a football stadium again.
