used to be the ultimate game of the season. Over recent years it seems to have moved around a bit in May. I haven't seen any coverage is it still on? Did I miss it? Is it two teams from the top 4 this year?

You'll find it's this saturday and it's Everton V Chelsea. You'll probably find that there's not been so much coverage because Man Utd aren't in the final and of course they are in Rome which is why there is loads of coverage of the Champions League final

for coverage you have the joys of choosing between ITV or Sultana.
a bit like having to decide whether you'd rather be stabbed in your left or your right bollock.

They used to follow the team coaches from their hotel to Wembley by helicopter aswell, and the live coverage started about a week before the game... I actually don't remember the last time I sat to watch it to be honest... bit sad really.

I actually don't remember the last time I sat to watch it to be honest... bit sad really. them were the days...interviewing the team on the coach, the inevitable rubbish charity match before the game (although can you imagine the managers nowadays complaining about the pitch after Ally McCoist and Christopher Biggins had bounced across the turf ???) it was a get up at 10am and watch telly solidly till 5pm kinda day!

I've made my mind up - as have a few hundred Leeds fans: hehe Although the England fans singing "we hate Setanta" and "BBC BBC BBC" at several recent away games was quality as well.

Sky don't have the rights, so don't mention it at all!
Sky Sports News should cover all sports news/preveiws.
When its Olympics you could watch SSN for hours and not realise!

Tijuana, it's live on SBS!! Looks like I'll get up and watch it on me todd. Everton to win hopefully. Anelka to miss a penalty and get 'disappeared' by the Russian mafia.Fat Frank to blart on the pitch at the end. For the worlds oldest sporting competition there has been barely a whimper in the media this year. As cmonstoke pointed out, it looks like the advertising revenue is all with the Eurocup so the TV are ignoring everything else.

It's lost a lot of its appeal but the idea it's a complete waste of time is utter bollox.

It's never been the same since Man.Ure. copped out a few years ago to play in some meaningless match in Japan. They should never have been allowed back in it.

It was Brazil they went to for the first World Club Championshit. They said themselves that they did it as a favour to the FA to keep onside with FIFA over the World Cup bid.....which was bollox of the highest order. There was several slots where they could have fitted in an FA Cup rd round match.

If we improve as a club over the next five years or so, then the FA Cup or the Carling Cup really is the only avenue we have of tangible success and winning silverware.
Like Joe says, to describe it as a waste of time is bollocks.
If you have no ambition in wishing to see your team win a trophy, then what exactly is the point of watching this sport?

I wonder how many would think it a waste of time if we were there a year from now.
It remains a magnificent and venerable footballing institution. It doesn't get the coverage it deserves because Sky haven't got it, simple as that. I look forward to every cup final and hope this year's game is a good one.

I still enjoy the cup, mainly because its an excuse, and a rare occasion I get out for the whole day..starting in Spoons in Biddle and watching the game up the Meg..
But just going back some years ago, the FA CUP was always big on TV..You would have IT'S A KNOCKOUT..Featuring fans from both clubs competing against each other.. Freddie Star dressed as Hitler marching up and down Wembley in his wellies is a fond memory..
WATCH THE TEAMS HAVING THEIR BREAKFASTS..... MEET THE PLAYERS...MEET THE MANGERS etc.. which they still do that..but the whole fiasco started at about 9.00am .
It as seemed to lost its appeal now though for some reason..

and Cup Final Mastermind and/or Question of Sport, as you say, the coverage started on about Wednesday. Now there is so much football on the telly, its just another match now...its sad, I think the last one I watched and got excited about was the Spurs/Coventry one in 1987! I dont think Ive watched it much since then!
