I think Brown is a decent/good player, he just isn’t good enough to be playing for Man Utd or England IMO. He almost falls into the Nicky Butt category.
How he was a Utd player for as many years as he was I’ll never know.
To answer your question, give me Griff any day!!

And he has the balls to turn down a £50,000 a week contract at Man Yoo.

He must have something (incriminating photos of Fergie? ;D)
Fergie's no mug and he's been putting him in the Utd squad for 8-9 years.
And he's got the spending power to get any defender in the world.

Wes Brown is the most orangest person in the world and his hair is the same colour as his head-on this basis alone I wouldn't want him in the team! Nowt racist like-he's orange FFS!

I personally think he's crap, overrated to say the least. In his defence (excuse the pun), he's a centre half not a right back.
He was shocking last night!!

Is that the reason he's turned it down though? Or is it because he wants first team football?
How he gets in the England squad is beyond me.

Certainly not RAF. Brown is shyte going forward and is prone to gaff’s at the back. I think he is severely over rated. Yes, he’s a good player but he’s never an England international for my money, nor is he a Man Utd player.

did you not see Griff against Liverpool etc in the prem? Man u plaer and England player no but still better than griff..

If Brown played for any other team (i.e. Middlesbrough) he would not be in the England team. He wouldn’t shine in any team and is over rated. I apply the same to Butt.
I’m not saying they’re bad players, there just good players, decent premier league standard at best. Chelsea or Man U could sign almost any England player and you can pretty much guarantee they will get a call up soon enough.
If you can take the blinkers off for one second and work on the assumption that just because a player plays for Man U or England doesn’t necessarily make him better than every other English player that plays for a team lower than Man U and not in the national team you might see my point. Yes, it applies to most but not necessarily all.
Can you say Simo would have done any worse than Robinson for the national team? The guy got and kept his place because he plays for a high profile team. I don’t think Robbo’s a bad keeper but I know Simo wouldn’t have done any worse, in fact probably a lot better but footy doesn’t work that way. Out of sight (out of the premier league) out of mind.
I’d have Griff over Brown every day of the week.

Griff did ok at Castle. Not spectacular, not poor.
Brown would be the same if he wasn’t protected by good players all around him.
Smith and Butt were supposedly Utd players and they go to a mediocre team like Newcastle and it shows how good they really are when they’re not being carried.
Incidentally, Butt and Smith were England players at Utd, they move on and they are no more. Add to that list P Neville.

Well brown has done a damn good job for united.
SOMEONE has to be a united squad player.
He has filled in at right back and done just as well as neville.

Done just as well as Neville???? Utter bollocks.
Gary Neville, cock though he may be, was peerless at right back for Man Yoo and England for years.
Wes Brown, who would certainly walk into our team, is a mid-table prem team defender at best. Everton if he's lucky, Wigan if he's not.

G Neville is in a different league to W Brown. Loads better going forward, loads better defending and a lot less likely to make gaffs.
