Southgate for his honesty, Moyes for turning a weak club into one of the best in the league, Hodgson for the same reason, O'Neil for what he achieved at Leicester. Outside of the top flight Dario for achieving 2nd tier status at a club the size of Crewe and producing some great players through their youth system with honourable mentions for Nigel Pearson, Mick Harford for achieving something at Luton considering the odds and Tony Parkes for being caretaker about 7 times now!
Finally, Strachan for the sheer comedy value he brings to an interview. My favourite was a pitch side interview at Southampton after the match. Reporter: Where do you think you lost the match today? Strachan: On that big green thing behind me.

In the Premier league after our first season? Harry Rednapp for me a long with Big Sam. Two top english managers who know how the game should be played. Gareth Southgate seems a nice chap too. Interesting, the first two you mention are somewhat dodgy are they not? Huddy, don't you realise it doesn't matter if they're underhand crooks as long as they're English and... errr... well, English?

Pulis and Ferguson. The latter has my utmost footballing respect, won everything on countless occasions, and Man United were hardly brilliant and hugely wealthy when he took over - all their success and money has been generated from his period. It's hard to see how no one could respect Alex Ferguson - i hate manure(the fans more than anything), but he deserves respect for what he's done in our sport. Purple nosed alcholic or not.[/quote] Depends on whether you're looking at just his achievements as a manager, or whether you look at him as a person as well, in which case it is extremely easy not to respect him, particularly for his hypocrisy.

Moyes and Hodgson for me - both seem completely down to earth - don't play mind games or whinge and have done great jobs with their teams.
Zola has also had a good season - has galvanised the team and done well with limited resources.

And I can't forget his smug comment about it being "A cup final for Stoke" when we played Birmingham.

Ramos gets my vote for his absolute one man destruction of spurs. it was sad to see him leave. ha ha. as for respecting Redknapp,NO FCUKING WAY! the man doesnt have a loyal bone in his body, and wherever he plies his trade, hes waiting for a bigger club to snap him up.

I don't see Redknapp leaving clubs for more money any different from what players do.

Has to be the wonderful Roy Hodgson. Super chap who appears to have stepped straight out of the 1950's.

Zola - fantastic footballer, nice man, and making a good fist of management Hodgson - smashing bloke, no airs and graces, vast experience and is proving to be a good manager. Moyes - has built Everton into a force to be reckoned with despite having less resources than many in the division.
I reckon Pulis deserves to be in that bunch as well.
Haven't included Martin O'Neill because he seems to be losing the plot a bit in recent months - and I have my doubts about him if he preferred Carson to Sorensen. ;D

Gareth Southgate seems a nice chap too. harry redknapp? respect? are you fucking having a laugh or what? he`s shat on EVERY club he`s managed. the manager i respect most is megson simply because he`s put up with so much crap at the clubs he`s been at-even bolton, just like pulis.

As I respect managers who have to work hard, without too much money (rules out 'Arry) or loads of assistants (rules out Sam) I'd go for Moyes, Hodgson, Zola and Bruce. Afrer TP, of course.
