For the first time this season, I'm really nervous. I was a bit last week but this game is so important that I need to take a chill-pill. I don't usually get like this but I reckon this is the most important game all season. We win this one and I reckon we've cracked it...another season of celebrity status: another season of worldwide recognition. Yes, that's Stoke City FC I'm talking about! Who wudda thought it a few seasons ago? Aint it great. We will win. I just know we will. Won't we? Of course we will. Gooooaaarrrrnnnn Stoke! OS.

It's weird after watching Blackburn last week I was fairly confident about this game up until the middle of the week. Then I read on here a few peoples comments about Allardyce and how he goes about preparing his teams for games like this one and I found my confidence has diminished somewhat.
Not a bad thing though really as I don't like getting overly sure of myself when it comes to Stoke as that is what generally makes me nervous as they have flattered to deceive so often in the past. Then I look back over this season so far and can't really think of a point where they have done that. So what I'm trying to say is that I still think we can pull off a positive result today, I'm just a little bit more circumspect about the prospect than I was a week ago.

Absolutely not, Joe. It's been a great season: a roller-coaster ride. We've just got to the top of the last peak and are about to descend today. Isn't it why we love the thrill of the chase...the chase being success, and in this case, this season, success is staying in this league? Just 3/4 points now boys. Not a lot to ask. I'm sweating. I've been receding and gray for years, Joe. My problem is running out of incontinence pads. OS.

Never fear owd chap our heroes will do the business today.
We are getting better with each game - we were so unlucky against Toon last week, watching the highlights back we absolutely destroyed them! Think we are due to give a team a good hiding

Think we are due to give a team a good hiding Hope you are right owd! Just hope we keep it tight at the back, I've got Shawcross in my dream team. If he can nod one in that would be a big bonus, he's been looking dangerous from set-peices the last month or so. Can't see Blackburn offering too much up-front today, Diouf is their only recognised forward they have fit.

Our defence is pretty good to be fair, would like a proper left back but Higgy's ok there.
I don't reckon Blackburn will fancy it today - just hope we are 2 up wit twenty to go so I can enjoy it - unlike last week!

With you both but you should know by now Stoke don't make it easy for us fans suppose that is the price you pay for being a Stoke supporter. I don't think I'd have it any other way. Just think we could swap all this tension and drama for sitting at Old Trafford scratching our arses picking our nose in deathly sielnce waiting for the inevitable victory. Nah fuck that!!

OS, hope you are prepared to bend over and take it like a man when TP brings home those 3 more points...after numerous posts over the last 2 yrs ridiculing the style of play and TPs negativity, I hope yo are prepared to give him the benfit of the doubt and admit that his style of play has been exactly what was required to keep us in the Premiership for a further year. (as opposed to the West Brazil style of football that you were advocating).
This is not meant to be a 'told you so', just an opportunity for you to admit the winning is more important than playing pretty football at this stage of the evolution, which TP has got spot on.

Two 'I hope you apologise and you have another agenda' posts out of twenty-five. Not bad. I reckon after sixty-years of supporting this club through thin and thinner, I can bask in whatever glory comes our way without apologising to anyone. Nerves are calming down now...replaced by a 'Bring 'em on' attitude. OS.

I think it's the fact that we could really, truly secure Prem survival today, it's one of those reality bites games. We ought to win it but more than anything it's about not losing today for me, if Blackburn have got any backbone at all they're going to be feeling vengeful after last week and if anyone can get Tone's number it should be Big Sam.

Phew!!! ;D ;D ;D
It's strange, but as the rest of the football world and the bookies have become more and more confident about our survival, I (and by the sound of it) lots of others on here, have become more and more nervous.
4 or 5 weeks ago I was quite relaxed but the nerves have been building up week by week as the finishing line gets closer and closer.
It sure made the explosion of joy at the final whistle even more enjoyable. ;D ;D
