38 year old Litmanen is the best player on the pitch. What does that say for the 'young' Welsh team?

Average Championship player.
If (when) we stay up, our sights should be set way higher than this.

Agree march4
We should set our targets alot higher than a average championship player, if he was that special he would be in the premiership.

Bale should not have try to play off-side for thier goal! Absolutely comical and show IMO how toss he is.
Random fact, but in every League game that Bale has started in for Spurs, they have not won. Bet he loves that stat!

I don't know. what does it say for them? It says he peaked 5 or 6 years ago, so these young players who aspire to play in the Premiership should be playing better than him

On that showing we dodged a massive bullet there. Could have easily been another Kitson. He was wank in a wank team.

Bale looks quality though well yeah, if you discount the fact that the first goal was his fault. His crossing is superb however.

I wouldnt be suprised is Bale ends up being a left winger or center midfielder (like Gareth Barry)

Here he is - If Cardiff don't go up then Ledley will be in the Premiership next season, most probably in a Stoke shirt. Pulis likes him and has tried to sign him twice before. IMHO he is a decent player who would enhance our squad.

It's not particularly logical considering they are completely different players, though the Pulis mind baffles. I personally don't rate Ledley. He's not terrible by any means, but at £6 million quid you'd hope for a little more than decent. He's always struck me as an "okay" sort of player.

It's one of Pulis's big failings.

Why do we have to look at the European market. We need players with Prem experience and there are plenty of bargains about eg Tommy, Abdy, BT, Ethers.

Why do we have to look at the European market. We need players with Prem experience and there are plenty of bargains about eg Tommy, Abdy, BT, Ethers. We need good players, whether they have experience is irrelevant. How much experience have Wigans, Fulhams, West Hams players got? Palacios from god knows where to Wigan - £750K, two good seasons and moved on for £12million. Sonko and Kitson have premier league experience but have proved to be rubbish. That's £8million quid down the swanny.

I think Prem experience is relevant. Even with it signings are a gamble eg Kitson, Tonge, Sonko, but without it surely the gamble is even greater. Can a club in our position gamble on someone who has never played in the Prem. I think the risk is too great. Anyway, it will interfere with our aim of playing the entire Senegalese national team.

It is totally irrelevant. Most of the the players brought into the Premier League have no top flight English league experience. It's about identifying, scouting, signing and developing good players. Pulis needs to look at other markets or we'll end up with more Sonko's, Tongues, Soares, Olifinwhatisname etc etc. We can't afford it - we need to get value for money. We'll agree to disagree.

Premier league experience has counted for nothing when it comes to the Kitson's, Tonge's, Soares' and Donko's of this world.
On this basis, it would seem foolish to suggest that PL experience is the basis on which we target players. After all, Pericard has PL experience. Experience at this level should be considered a bonus - we really should be capable of identifying players who will adapt to the EPL.

Is Ledley a glorified, press-magnified younger Liam? Lively enouhg in the Championship but no real pace? TBH, I think Pulis was after him until the price tag became way to high for how good the bloke actually is. As usual the British market is vastly over-inflated, so there has to be some gems in the 2nd tier European Leagues we can grab who are just as good if not better and half the price.

The only Welsh player i'd like to see in a Stoke shirt is Koumas. I think he was the only player yesturday to show any kind of quality in there side. Would be good in our midfield IMO.
