Bump! Last night shift done. Next one on Monday. Hurray! 3/4 of the way through my 3rd shift of a run of 5x12 hour nightshifts It works out at a 14 hour working 'day' for me taking into account the travel time Pretty much done for the night tho' actual work wise, so long as nowt goes tits up

After starting a new job in September 2012 working 8 hours shits in the week & 12 hours at weekends I'm finally back on 12 hours exclusively. 4 on 4 off
I was working 64 hour weeks on earlies & nights. What a crap rota that was!

4 on 4 off sounds a bit shit to me if it's a constant cycle, used to do something similar, 2 days 2 nights 4 off but we did a 7 week cycle then 3 weeks normal days.

I used to work a 3 on 3 off shift pattern but the 4 on, 4 off is just as good. Look at it this way, I only work for 6 months of the year not including holidays. My weekdays off are bliss! I can organise doctors/dentists appointments, car MOT's, tradesmen in the house etc & I don't have to worry about working Monday to Friday

We work a kind of 3 days, 3 off, 4 nights then a week off, sounds ok but most of our annual and bank holidays are built in to the shift system meaning we only get to chose 5 shifts a year we can have as holiday, also makes it difficult to get a two week block off. It's also difficult to avoid becoming everybodies 'bitch' when I'm off, doing for them the things they couldn't be arsed to do at the weekend whilst they were off and I was working!

Me too, my sister uses mine, it's right next to her husband anyway :) I've missed some big games/results in the last couple of seasons tho' >:(
