a gold plated breadbin would be worth more than the contents of the Newcastle trophy cabinet in the last 40 years.

a gold plated breadbin would be worth more than the contents of the Newcastle trophy cabinet in the last 40 years. Indeed. In fact, I've got a pewter Homer Simpson figurine, dressed like an ancient Greek, toasting a sausage in the Olympic Flame and mounted on a base which bears the inscription: "On your marks; get set; D'oh!" I reckon that's worth more than the contents of the modern Newcastle trophy cabinet.

Just like we needed Leeds I suppose ? has anyone missed them ? ... not me, Newcastle deserve to go down due to the hubris that they have shown over the years by sacking manager after manager because they were under the illusion they were one of the big boys, well they're not to big to fail, and I hope they do, it might do them good to have a season or two in the championship, let them bottom out and learn you can't buy success over night and you can't sack manager after manager and hope to have stability .
Never has the phrase "be careful what you wish for" ever been more appropriate to describe a set of supporters (perhaps Vales supporters ?), they shouldn't have sacked Big head Sam so quickly.

No team has a divine right to be in the prem. Just because they get 50,000 to games doesnt give them the right to think they are too big to go down. Its all bollocks from the media, Newcastle is another club that they have a love-in with over their level of support. The reason they are down there is because they have had a shit season so far and the teams above are performing better than they are. They deserve to be in the bottom 3 on their form. If we can beat West Brazil and they lose against Chelsea that puts us 5 points clear of them. Lets hope thats the case when the geordies roll in to town. Think you'll find it would be 6 points

Lets not count any chickens, look at Spurs, they were struggling a couple of months ago, and no they are nice and safe. Any team around us or below us is capable fo winning 2 in a row and at this stage, that can be all it takes, and bearing in mind our abysmal away form, you couldnt even count on us getting anything at West Brom at this rate, if they beat us, things will look very different. So lets all be really nice to the other struggling clubs and not incur any bad karma. Remember, Stoke being Stoke are always capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory, you can guarrantee that if we have to go to Arsenal on the final day needing to avoid losing 3-0 to stay up, we would lose 4-0 in the last minute of the 7th minute of added time. I just think that when the chips are down, the "bigger" clubs usually manage to drag out a couple of performances and some luck. Its usually the Wolves, Leicesters, Southamptons, Birminghams etc that get relgated, not the Newcastles, Spurses, etc. Mind you, big up to Wigan!

Surprised that, in all of the above, (unless (I've read them too quickly) no-one comments on the fact that Steve Curry was the number one Man Utd reporter/sucker-up (excluding local man, David Meek) for over thirty years. Am just wondering whether to waste my time and go and reason with him at his Weybridge pub, locally. Nah, he'll never understand us Stokies. This has been a season when we have all been made to realise that. And how!

what would be the point in promotion and relegation if all the "biggest teams" should be in the prem? surely nobody has the "divine right" to be there?!

I would love to see those fuckers in the champ, they drew at manure at the start of the season and were saying that they were back in the hunt for Champions League again and could challenge for the league! Souness was on the other day talking about there fans saying that fans of other clubs get on the players back after a few bad games but at St James its after a few bad passes. I have always taught there fans are idiotic hicks and see how many of those 50,000 turn up against Coventry nest season
