Ive been saying that midfield when fit for the past month jamo but i will let you take the glory.
But what i have been saying though aswell will he START that midfield and i mean with both wingers?
Whelan is a great midfielder end of and the best at the club.

Whelan is a great midfielder end of and the best at the club. Correct in every regard apart from the last line. Whelan is the best midfielder at times. However, he drifts out of games for long periods whereas Rory is always involved. The most important thing is Rory and Whelan in the middle against Brazil.

Rory as a footballer and i mean with the ball at his feet the the bloke is useless but he is a decent stopper because he is more mobile than Diao in the middle so he 'looks better' but fuck me Brammer now is more mobile than that crab.Whelan is clever and can use a ball and keep it.

Whelan gives the ball away a lot for my liking. He's one of the few midfielders who is capable of picking a clever pass and getting forward but he's not consistent enough to make me think he's a long-term answer to our central midfield problem (we don't have a centre mid who is though, to be fair).
Rory keeps the ball far better than Whelan IMO.

'Useless' is a bit strong, but this is a fairly accurate assessment. I think Rory and Whelan will make an effective pairing for the rest of the season.

whelan by a country mile, delap or whelan is a no brainer! what quality does delap offer on a football?? none! i admit hes a great hard worker and breaks play up, but when in control what does he do?? whelan is twice the footballer than him You're kidding? Whelan doesn't have half the footballing brain that Delap has. I'm no critic of Glenn's, he's put in some good performances for us and it's nice to have a player in midfield who's actually a threat from outside of the box, but the simple fact is that Delap is the better all-round footballer by a long way. His reading of the game is second to none, I can't understate it, he's always the first man back when the opposition break from any set piece and he always finds himself in the right place at the right time. I remember 'boro breaking on us once or twice yesterday and we'd have been knackered without Rory...though having said that, they had King, Alves and Tuncay up front, so maybe not. Whelan admittedly has the better shot and is a threat around the box, but Delap gives the front men more support. I think he's suffered from his games out on the left and right where's he been able to do his work defensively but hasn't looked as good on the ball because he doesn't have the pace or tricks to beat his man. Whelan's no different in that respect. Whelan is capable of putting his foot on the ball and taking a bit of sting out of the game, but Rory's no mug with the ball at his feet and he can carry it forward just fine. He doesn't have the same eye for a killer ball as Whelan, admittedly, but he does a stirling job in the middle. That's why it infuriates me that people are desperate to jump on his back as just a big throwing machine with no footballing ability so as to conform to the media stereotype. It's just not true, Like I say, Whelan is doing well for us right now, but he's not as good as Delap. I know a Wolves fan who says Seyi is a really good player Jamo...but only once every ten games. In Brief ..... totally agree.

I totally agree that Salif has been crap of late. I also take great interest in the Rory/Whelan debate and, for my sins, I think Rory is a much better 'all round player. glen is just too inconsistent but can be very good on a good day.
The general feeling of Liam/Glen/Rory/Ethers I think most of us would agree with but I just don't think it will happen. I'm convinced that Salif OR Amdy will be in there. Not saying I agree with it but I do think that's what will happen.
On Salif, I don't care how badly he plays, I was very disappointed with the crowd reaction to his substitution. we were poor in that first half and he could have taken off Glen, Rory or Liam who were almost as bad. they would never have got that kind of reaction and it was sad to hear. YES, I know how dad he was, but he was one of many in that first half.
Let's be honest it was far and way Abdy's worst game for us and Wilco was run ragged.
As long as he's there in a Stoke shirt I will NEVER jeer any one of our players. I hate It!

Whelan is the best CM we have by a country mile! If we could get a centre back and move Faye into the middle I think you will find yourself having to admit that you are incorrect.
