I thought the ironic cheers were a bit harsh for the big fella. He was woeful but I just felt sorry for the big man. All a bit unecessary imo but thats football.

It was a disgrace from the stoke fans that did that, no matter how bad anyone plays u dont treat the player that way

Diao and Sorensen are the weak links in an otherwise distinctly strong side.

Yeh its really poor booing your own men, we have a reputation for backing the team even when things aren't going well, lets keep it. It is also demoralising for the other players, they will be thinking, that'll be me when I have a bad game.

The booing was uncalled for,but i reckon Diao should have stayed on the bench after being taken off to support the rest of the squad.I believe some of the booing was due to his reaction at being taken off.

mr 23! soro s kept us in a few game s u cant knock a clean sheet. diao is no on form and should have been taken off at half time, to save his face. theres better centre midfield at stoke !

It is an utter disgrace, that kind of thing just knocks a bit of confidence out of the whole side. Ridiculous. DON'T DO IT.
And he came back from the changing rooms for the last 10 minutes.

I thought the ironic cheers were a bit harsh for the big fella. He was woeful but I just felt sorry for the big man. All a bit unecessary imo but thats football. Although I don't condone the jeering of Diao, and I wouldn't ever do it myself , there's no doubting that this was going to happen sometime soon. Diao has been absolutely dreadful recently, Pulis had to sub him in the last home game and you'd be hard pushed to find an Oatcake poster who wanted him in his/her team for today's match. So why did Pulis? Furthermore, during the half-time break, you can guarantee that Pulis KNEW he was going to sub Salif almost as soon as the second half started, so why not just get over and done with then, and save the poor lad any possible grief. The only worry now is that Pulis will adopt an 'I'll show you' reaction to the jeering by starting Salif against the Baggies. Again, I've got to say I don't condone the jeering, but maybe a part of it was more borne out of frustration with the manager for starting him in the first place rather than trying to destroy the specific individuals' confidence.

Cresswell didn't get that !!
Diao was poor, he had a bad game, but we don't need to jeer our own players !!

Salif was really poor today. We looked a lot better when Rory switched to the middle.
The ironic cheers were not helpful after the commitment Salif has shown the club. They were disrespectful.
Still, some people are so negative on this board some days that we shouldn't be surprised that they don't know how to behave in public either.
Time to give Salif a rest, he is not match fit and looks a shadow of the player we saw earlier in the season.
Midfield of Ethers, Rory, Whelan and Lenny from now on please.

I didn't say that Sorensen had a bad game today. The fact is that goal keepers have to be consistent, and points dropped away have can be traced to the poor handling of our number one (Sunderland, Everton just last week). One game doesn't change that.

not sure how much of it was 'ironic cheer' and how much was cheering the fact that TP had seen our weak link and decided to replace him.
He was dogshit again, for a Centre Mid to have a game to pass him by like Diao did today is concerning, when he did manage to get involved he was terrible.

Sorro is a good keeper, but he lets in soft goals. He was poor at Everton, but on the whole has been a very good signing. Simmo is a much better shot stopper but Thomas is a better all round keeper.

Paul, I thought TP was man of the match today. He gave us the team and formation we have all been craving (eventually!). The substitution of Mama was sheer genius. We sat behind TP wondering what was going on. He kept getting Mama ready, the 4th official had his board ready and then Mama sat down. This was repeated over and over. At one point the ref came across to see what was happening. Then we get a throw in. Mama is on and the Boro players lose the plot trying to mark him. The result, a beautifully taken goal by Shawcross who had that little bit of space thanks to Mama's late run into the box. Sheer genius TP - well done!

I was cheering because I was glad the manager had finally seen sense and taken off our consistent worst player for the last 4 or 5 games.
Some people need to get a sense of realism, yes harsh on Diao but we have a right to voice our opinions, yes?
