Other than hitting the bar with that header ,he was absolutely woeful last night. His decision making and timing seems awful, he`s a fukin liability.

WHAT!???
I thought he looked solid again. Yes his distribution is poor but we're Stoke. Quality ball playing centre halves are nearly impossible to get hold of without paying serious wedge and just because we managed to get ourselves a 'legend' on the cheap doesn't mean it's always that easy.
Give the lad a fuckin' break.
Plus with 36 posts in 14 months i would have expected more quality when you can actually be bothered.

He covered well, positionally was strong, worked very hard, committed and hit the bar...oh and didnt make any mistakes...
Sounds like a terrible performance to me....
IDIOT.
Watch the game, not only the ball but the game itself.

He did well, give him a break.
They all played their part last night.
Even Higgy, who was no where near his best, put a shift in.

He also defended very well at Villa, people were slagging him off there for his distribution, but whilst his distribution was poor at Villa, he had no outlet, and he wasn't the only one just booting it in the first half

I don't think he'll ever be first choice to start a game but he did nowt wrong yesterday. As others have said, his distribution isn't the best but, as a squad player, he is sound defensively.

He puts himself in the way of everything that is goal bound. He doesn't get many games and can't be expected to be up to Faye's standard. Still a good sub to have on the bench.

Bearing in mind he was doing the job of Abdoulaye Faye as well, I thought he did admirably. Apart from one (very) dodgy header which put Sorensen in trouble, I had no problems with him.

I've heard of constructive criticism but how on earth anyone can use the word shit and last nights performance in the same sentence needs shooting tbh. Sonko came on for what 20 mins? didn't concede and hit the bar with a header, he filled in well for Faye on Sunday and did his job last night.

Who cares how Sonko played, friggin hell we bloody won . . And Sonko headed against the bar and yes he did a decent job . . . good grief some people on here make me mad lol . .
Just go and watch Port Vale will you, then you can moan every week then.

This is what happens when you go to a game with your mind already made up about a player. Ibrahima Sonko did just fine!

What about the totally free header he had in his own box not long after he came on which very nearly caught out sorro ? As for people defending the fact that his decision making and distribution is to be accepted at times ? get a grip with reality, we pay the guy shit loads of cash that we could only dream of. Trumpton potter ! you had a dig saying that i had only made 36 posts and you would have expeted better, grow up ! I suppose your dad is bigger than my dad is he ? Knob head. Football is all about opinions as is life !!!!!

As Smudge said though, it seems like you've made your made up and nothing he does will ever change it. He was fine last night, didn't do a lot wrong at all and shored up the defence.

Sonko was solid last night. Made some important challenges and was unlucky not to score with the header.

Sonko did owt wrong last night to be fair, Diao looked woeful in my opinion he was so slow to react to situations.

Apart from that one dodgy header which Knowles mentions I thought Sonko defended well. When I saw his name on the team sheet at Villa in place of Abdoulaye I feared the worst but he didn't let us down defensively. I think a lot of people me included still have nightmares about that tackle at Blackburn but I have no complaints about his defending in his last two outings.

thought all the team played their parts well last night, sonko and diao tboot.
amdy and diao I would have either on the pitch , prefer not to have both on at the same time unless we had a 5-0 lead somewhere with 10mins to go and fancied shutting up shop. but happy with either of them employed to spoil other teams play they both do it very well. OK granted neither may be brilliant at finding a man.
we have the front men now, we have the back, we can have the middle with a little more confidence running through their veins.
very happy

Thought he did alright when he came on,and seeing as he had 2 different injured partners in that time-as both Faye and Shawcross were playing with injuries-I'd say he did a bit better than that wouldn't you?

I have no previous opinion on Sonko, but he came on and looked as steady as any of your defenders. Cant see why you'd have an issue with him last night whatsoever?

Sonko was good last night, I believe he is quite a committed lad and that augers well for him.

he is clearly not our first choice, but he hardly put a foot wrong, very strong in the box (at both ends) and his decision making was actually very strong, particularly shepherding the ball out a few times for a gk to stop the bolton pressure.

Guess what, I disagree too! He's starting to look like the player I hoped he'd be.
Thought he was solid, Bolton 'out-Stoked' us last night in terms of aerial bombardment, and he (and the others) coped admirably. Plus, he was a threat at set-pieces for us too. Would have loved him to have scored that header.

im afraid this post is like many on this board these days ,someone sitting at home never seen a match in his life but decides to give us all the benefit of his wisdom? last night was a great night for stoke city and the supporters so how anyone can try to be negative is just totally beyond me. people who do actually go to games only look for positives in their team i am brassed off with all the negativity on here go down to west brazil and applaud their tippy tappy football
