What do we all think?
With Rory back from suspension and Ric back to his old self, and hopefully Abdy and Tommy suffering only very temporary setbacks, we'll be at (almost) full-strength.
My team would be:
Tommy
Kelly - Ryan - Abdy - Higgy
Liam - Amdy - Glenn - Rory
BT - Ric
However I wouldn't be surprised if TP goes with something like:
Tommy
Wilko - Ryan - Abdy - Higgy
BT - Diao - Faye - Liam
Mama - Ric

Why drop Wilko? He was amazing yesterday and has been mainly all season.
Until he really screws up we should stick with him.
Tommy
Wilko - Ryan - Abdy - Higgy
Rory - Diao - Glenn - Liam
Mama - BT

Why drop Wilko? He was amazing yesterday and has been mainly all season. I don't think TP will drop him, but I would. Wilko's a good defender, but he's not a Premier League full-back. It remains to be seen whether Kelly is, of course, but I'm sure he'd offer us more in attack. I was happy enough with Wilko yesterday, but at home I'd just like to see a bit more quality going forward.

Knowles...cough...team I suggested...cough.
Wilk is young, from Stone and holding his own in the Prem we need to keep playing him!

Sorry BB!! You need some cough medicine mate If anyone saw Kelly's performance at Sunderland they will know that Wilko is the best option at right back!

So you weren't impressed with his run and cross for second goal versus Pompey? Honestly? No, I wasn't. Delighted, but not that impressed. The cross was more of a hopeful punt, which Pugh made a pig's ear of, and BT was there to pick up the pieces! Don't get me wrong, I think Wilko is doing a "good enough" job, and I don't groan so much anymore when his name's on the teamsheet, but I do feel we might have a better option at home.

If Lawrence had put that cross in, would it have been a hopeful punt? If his corners yesterday were anything to go by, then yes! ;D

If Lawrence had put that cross in, would it have been a hopeful punt? If his corners yesterday were anything to go by, then yes! ;D Lol Have to say, Lawrence was terrible first half yesterday, but was transformed after Fuller came on, they started linking up again like they did last season. Back to Wilko though. For me, he has been excellent for us of late, and would be one of the first names on the team sheet. His distribution still needs a lot of work, and I accept that he does not offer as much going forward as Griffin, but he is there as a defender, and he does that bloody well.

Dexter did you go to Sunderland? No, I was spared by having to go to a wedding! I see where you're coming from, but a dodgy game at Sunderland doesn't make him a bad player any more than Wilko's mistakes this season make him one. However Kelly is proven at this level, and is worth a go.

I think the main problem with Wilko's distribution is that he doesn't have a great footballing brain. I'm sure he'll improve with experience, but blood, thunder and passion (whilst very endearing to the fans) will only get you so far at this level. I think away from home, and particularly the way we play, the "he is there as a defender" argument stands up. At home I'd like to see a bit more. But it's all about opinions, eh? Looks like I'm in the minority on this one.

He followed up a dodgy performance v Sunderland with another one for Ireland!!!
I haven't seen enough of Kelly, maybe he will be very good, but we already have a player occupying that position who is very good

People would prefer Diao over Amdy? Puzzling.

I wouldn't prefer Diao over Amdy but we all know TP prefers Diao to any central midfielder at the club.
Wilko is a bit blood and thunder but he did well for our first goal yesterday- getting in behind Young before knocking it back for Beattie. Griffin is well out of the picture now (again, not in the squad) and Wilko has deserved to be number one right back for us.
Personally, I'm delighted for him and fingers crossed he continues his good form. He might not be all that good at distributing the ball but it can't be any worse than what we saw from Sonko, Higgy and Pugh yesterday.

I wouldn't prefer Diao over Amdy, I just think that's what Pulis will go for:
Sorensen/Simonsen
Wilkinson Faye/Sonko Shawcross Higginbotham
Lawrence Diao Whelan Delap
Sidibe Beattie
Fuller will appear 2nd half again I think?

Diao is very much "teacher's pet" at the moment isn't he?

Serious question... But if you were TP who would you think was best in the air out of Diao and Amdy??
When we played Everton at home, TP but Abdoulaye Faye in midfield to neutralise Fellainis presence.. So I wouldnt be suprised if he did something similar again

Interesting to see I'm not alone in thinking Pulis's 'lesson learned' from the Villa game will be that BT can 'do a job' on the right of midfield ;D

Sorrenson Wilko Shawcross Faye Higgy Delap Faye Whelan Lawrence Fuller Beattie That the team (with Rory and Lawrence swapped round) I'd start with, but I think Pulis will go with Diao in place of Faye and Mama in place of Ric.
