WBA, Hull, Fulham not the best atmospheres, some noting on here that the team, pace of the game didn't get the crowd up for it. The above games were not BIG opposition neither. Man City until the sending off was pretty "ordinary". After the 38th minute and Delap's dismissal a new standard was set. Hostile, intimidating, in your face, uplifting and incredibly loud. We were the 12th ( 11th man ) that day. There is no doubt. www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/sunsport_columnists/article2195222.eceThe 80th minute roar, an I was there moment. It was special, very special. YOU HAD TO BE THERE TO TRUELY APPRECIATE IT. Other teams fans have pointed to the fact we are new to the Premier League, we won't be "loud and proud" for long. We will get stale if we stay up and have less to shout about if we go down. That can be argued in a couple of months time. So to the Portsmouth game, no Fuller, no Etherington, no Delap, possibly others missing off the team sheet who would normally be on it. Portsmouth a team from what I have seen who have experienced as much luck as us recently, will be inspired by a new Manager ( one no doubt better than Adams ) with a point or 3 to prove. This is another 6 pointer, on our soil and one we should / could win. So the ACID test, not the most glamorous of teams to visit the Brit, but we can not afford to wait for the team to lift us, we HAVE TO START WHERE WE LEFT OFF. Are you in ?

I love how some people are so sarcastic Totally agree the thre mentioned games the crowd were quite for a change i do think the mama injury suprised everyone against fulham But if we the fans keep going the way they have for the vast majority of the season it will be great fun.

I actually remember the Hull game as a really good atmosphere- am I the only one?
The Fulham game was awful although that matched the standard of the game.
I didn't go the West Brom game so couldn't comment.

Can we choose the man of the match in the first minute? That's what kicked it off last time Abdoulaye Faye is always man of the match. The vote is for second place.

Quote James Beattie at last night's meet the player forum :
Asked what he made of the Britannia’s atmosphere, he told supporters: “It’s fantastic. I’ve been on the receiving end on a couple of trips to the Britannia where I have played for other teams. It’s quite intimidating because, down on the pitch, when the noise level is like it was against Manchester City, it really helps Stoke.
“I was in need of oxygen for the last 15 minutes, but the fans inspired me to keep running and really helped.
“It was my family’s first game at the Britannia and my dad couldn’t believe how noisy they were. I’m good mates with Wayne Bridge and he was saying how loud the fans were and that they were putting their players off. If you can keep it up, that would be great.”
