I don't hear you harping on about our other little local club up in Burslem that might be going out of business! Well considering they are our rivals? ??? Thats irrelevant they are local and they are in trouble just like Stafford R. By the way i am up for the 14th of Feb even though i live in Kidsgrove i would support such an event.

Also didn't Stoke fans offer to aid Vale financially, but they turned it down?

Stafford Rangers have taken their impending demise both with humility, grace and dignity coupled with a grass roots approach of fight and feistiness. I have the utmost respect for a club that won't lie down and take it (reminds me of us)!
Vale are a non entity for me...they don't deserve support from other factions when they are blinkered to both their status and situation. If there's such a thing as League 2 snobbery...they're it!!
Back to the point though...SR get my backing, however small a contribution i may be! i hope we can really help them somehow ;D

Don't remember Stoke fans offering financial help.

good point RJB! Didn't knowles post a thread on here a few weeks ago about a fans consortium attempting to buy the club (can't find it now) If we can generate enough interest and publicity, perhaps this will 'plant a seed' in the minds of local businesses and maybe SBC...who knows! Yes, Knowles did post a thread on this issue a few weeks back, and I made a similar point then - if the Local Authorities (Stafford Borough & Staffs County) and other partners were to be interested in supporting any initiative, a Business Case would have to be made, by the club/fans, outlining the advantages to the local economy and community.

Would they mind us wearing Stoke shirts at the match?

I have just checked fixtures for both us and SR. We have no game on 14th Feb and SR are at home to Stalybridge. KO 1500. We could go wearing Stoke shirts to show that one local club can help support another. Would also be very good press for us. ;D Anyone in??????? PS. I know the bar manager there so could ensure the powers that be know that Stokies come in peace. ;D Great idea ! Valentine's Day.... a good day for the wife to massacre me for choosing football over family (again !)

Stafford Players to do a Bag pack at Tesco, after all it's their wages the money is being raised for. Players and directors do a car wash morning before the game. Race Evening Bonus ball 500 club Soccer tournament on the ground in the close season
It all adds up and helps.

How about enlisting the support of former Stafford Rangers players who have gone on to better things, and top players/ex-players from Stafford?
Stan Collymore, for example?
