I was the only one out of anyone on here and throughout the media that got the fee exactly right on friday at 3.5 million Fair's fair, Gareth. You can have a gold star for that one.

And, lest we forget, Beattie is already off the mark for Stoke, after scoring a cracker at Bramall Lane last season! ;D

I think he will be a great signing and will suit the way we play, i think he has been brought in to partner Kitson or Mama with Fuller and Camara coming off the bench.

Don't think it has been dragging on too long at all. Looks quite speedy to me.
Compared with say Santa Cruz to Man City, Ledley to Stoke etc

Reckon Beattie will be number 20. Don't tend to use 13. Good signing

At first i wasn't sure on the this deal, but based on the fee, that i have to say is better than i expected, the fact he's proven to score goals at this level, and the fact we needed another striker, i think it's a good addition.
well done Stoke City !

Daily Star on the ball as usual. www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/65537/Another-Bell-bid-appeals-to-Mark/ James Beattie is set to snub a £5m move to Stoke in favour of holding out for a dream return to Blackburn.
Beattie has been told he can leave Sheffield United for Tony Pulis’ men after a fee was agreed last night.
But Beattie has told close friends he has no interest in joining Stoke and would rather wait for a move back to Ewood – more than a decade after he left.
Boss Sam Allardyce wants the former England striker to replace Santa Cruz, who is still destined for Eastlands this week, provided City meet Blackburn’s valuation.
Stoke are desperate to sign Beattie and have also offered the Blades an alternative deal of £2.5m in cash plus Dave Kitson.daily star bang on the money
