The Oatie's small attempt to do something about the recession.
If you're looking for a job, if you know someone who's taking people on, if you're self-employed and after work, if you need work doing, or maybe if you've got time on your hands and can offer skills to fellow posters on a voluntary basis, put a message up on this thread.

We've had to have a couple of deletions so can I just make clear, this isn't meant for pure advertising.

I am a self employed courier offering nationwide sameday services. competetive prices, PM me for a quote. Also, I am looking for casual drivers. Drivers need to have their own vehicle, a full driving licence with no more than six points and be prepared to drive wherever required at short notice. There is a very good earning potential. I am looking for drivers all over the country so i can offer my services nationwide.
PM me for further details or to apply

Roger Bullivants in Burton on trent is taking on 3 class HGV drivers, delivering concrete products all over the UK as far up as the isle of skye, Maybe one or two nights out every other week, no set pattern of nights out, just as and when.
Basic of 28.5k plus and easily obtained bonus, Ive made it every week for the last year and its a minimum of £100 a week bonus.
Great job, We've got all the goverment contracts for building the prisons for the next 5 years so we should be able to ride out the storm.
In the area this is the job that most HGV drivers want so word has spread quickly so give the transport office a call and have a chat. I know its a bit of a drive for most Stokies but its a very relaxed easy job, no pressure.
It would suit any JCB hgv drivers as some of the work is delivering diggers and fork lifts so chaining experience would be good.
Hope this helps someone out....Good luck

A couple of teaching posts are available for Alsager School I think. Yes there are: A modern languages teacher and Supply teacher required. Also required are midday assitants (But to be honest that is rubbish since you just walk round the school lots of times and monitor children with a walkie-talkie) www.alsagerschool.co.uk/vacancies.htm

I am a football memorabilia dealer and always looking for old collections to buy. Especially badges. I also sell badges on matchdays at the top of the steps just above the club shop.
Please note I do not give valuations over the net.

Power Generation is the game (or rather one of) to get into at the moment it seems, if you have any transferable skills it's well worth investigating.
They need all sorts of staff - drivers, admin staff, operators, welders
If you don't mind a life on the road have a look for a firm that works on "outages" (when the station is shut down for maintenance) the hours are long but the money's good. Alstom is one such firm but there's a lot of others. Lad at our place earned £1200 for 7 days just before Xmas, he was asked if he wanted any more work but he has a young kid and it doesn't lend well to family life 'cos of the travelling.
His job was passing equipment in and out of the boiler opening.
