If it was such a crap game, I wonder why it was the second game on.
I wonder.

The pundits hate it dont they. They have to get new scripts this season as nobody is getting left behind and the Big 4 are in danger of being infiltrated

The only channel I've felt that have actually been in support of our style is Setanta. Tonight, Steve MacManaman was in full support of us.. Matteo was obvious supporting us and Tim Sherwood was actually praising us for our style of play. I thought we looked very comfortable at times and we were unlucky to not win the game. How Linekar et al can even begin to critise us is beyond a fucking joke

spot on pauil spencer, why do people try to protect our style of play.for the neutrals its bloody awaful most of the time, and the passing is dreadful by us.however we need to get points on the board and if tp thinks we will avoid relegation with this style so be it but dont say we were great and brill, and stopped liverpool palying.that was the worst i have ever seen liverpool play on 30 years, and yes, some people will say we stopped them playing.we stopped them mainly in the last third on a pitch thats the smallest in the premiership if not the football league.when we play away thats when we should be heavily criticised by the media as we are pretty much pathetic.tp will live or die by his style of play and i know what many will say on here if we get relegated with the worst goals for in the league.

The fact is it was one of the more entertaining 0-0 games you will see, good pace, a decent number of chances, some good defending and the odd solid tackle. Proper game of football for people who love proper football. However, if on the other hand you are tasked with making the Premier League look glamourous and want to knock one out over the top four then it was not what the doctor ordered. We didn't roll over for Liverpool, we didn't let them score a perfect goal involving 20 passes and we didn't give them any time to try some fancy flicks or turns for the BBC to show in the edited highlights (did they even show Kitson's header from Rory's throw??) Wank Stoke, must do better!

I thought Shearer got it spot on.....its totally different watching a game live than watching it on the box. Many times I have been to a game thought because of the atmosphere etc it was great then got home and was surprised how ordinary it was.
Yesterday was much better from us, we mixed it up a lot better rather than rely on the hoof and what a joy it was to have a left sided player whose comfortable on the ball and wanted to take people on.

We probably are a bit over-sensitive but what annoys me is the tired old analysis week in week out.
No mention of Liverpool hoofing it forward for the last fifteen mminutes because they hadn't been able to play through us - and they call US direct!
Plus, I'd accept the criticism a whole lot more easily if there was the slightest acknowledgement of the difference in spending over the last five years or so.
Btw, full marks to Stuart Hall at Everton yesterday. As I was driving to the game listening to 5Live he described Hull's approach as rugged and robust and couldn't understand why they weren't picking up bookings while Everton were. Well done Stuart tell it like it is.

The only reason they didn't think it was entertaining was because Liverpool didn't win.
As for the beautiful game? Why are all the Cup Finals involving the top teams as boring as fuck?
And that World Cup Final between Italy and Brazil was riveting, wasn't it?

There doesn't need to be goals to be a great game. If it is cimpetative and there are chances it is good and that is exactly what yesterday. Would 0-4 to Liv been a 'better' match? Probably not

I thought the MOTD coverage last night was absolutely piss poor -describiing it as a poor game (surely not ?) and, preferring to show extended clips of Sammy Lee on the touchline whilst missing fairly key bits of action from the edit.
They also preferred to say liverpool were disjointed and poor only grudgingly giving us any credit (they obviously missed Alonso though)
and there is definitely a snobbery about stoke city and the stereotype they now all have about the way we play

I have no idea why anybodygets upset at the comments on mod...its a tired format with the same old pundits on it who have basically run out things the say and they actually look bored by it all. The shows format allows for a couple of minutes analysis so what are they going to say? As for the game being good to watch...yes only if you are a Stokie...I watched in the usa with many neutrals who are genuine footy lovers but they started a texas holdem game after 20 minutes. TP style of play will never win over many neutrals...fact

Thing is - It demonstrates that football is completely divided -
There is the TV show (MOTD) for the casual football follower who probably 'supports 'Big 4', never goes to a match and expects to be 'entertained' by whatever is put in front of him.
Thenthere is real football supporters who go and watch their teams, are passionate, committed (usually to their local team) and believe that football is more about the game than the glamour and money.
Its simple really - How about a program for US !!!!

Lineker is a absolute joke, he has done nothing but take the piss out of us. Jug eared toss pot No doubt the sad and bitter twat remembers who it was that relegated Leicester to the third division. When he takes the piss out of us on MOTD, I just remember that, and smile with satisfaction.
