Lucky escape. More by luck than judgement too. Villa fans described him to a tee. It's all worked out very well on this one.

Hate to say it but I thought Sorro was our only unconvincing player today. I agree too. Didn't come out for 2 crosses and wasn't to his usual standard. But we dodged a fuckin bullet not buying carson.

A good keeper will organise the defence (Shilts was brilliant).Tommy does an excellent job if you read Denis' autobiography, he says the opposite of that...he says Shilton was no good at organising the defence and Denis didnt feel confident playing in front of him (or words to that effect) but then i suppose that comes after playing infront of the worlds best for several years... when you think back to the bad luck we had in the 70's and think about what might of been.. makes you spew

I'll put my cross in the "Tommy wasn't convincing" box. Don't get me wrong, generally I think he's superb, but he didn't command the area as well as usual on Saturday. Having said that, I though he had a better game than Reina.
I'm also glad we missed-out on Carson, who's in danger of becoming infamous for the type of error he made against Villa. To be fair though, he made an excellent stop in the second half.

Masively overatted goalkeeper that hopefully people will now see why. He's not unlucky in the slightest, he's toss.
Thomas i feel did very well on satdee and made some top saves that otherwise would of had us gutted now that we didnt get a point.
He's commanding defence as and when and I think thats great for us that he does.
hats of Soro, your a top keeper and a fantastic stokie in my view
