As featured on both sides of the Atlantic tonight,.... we in Britain were greeted and treated by 'The Famous five". I give George W Bush...Bush snr...Bill Clinton... Jimmy 'Peanuts' Carter , and last but not least President elect Obama.
It was a meeting arranged by Obama in what was a described as a meeting of great minds, and one in which Mr Obama described as an opportunity to pick the brains of Presidents past, and to pick up any useful tips.
Obama will soon become Americas first 'black' President and will probably inherit one of the worst economic crisises the country has ever faced.Add to this the current Israeli/Palestinian conflict along with the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistanan, and one can perhaps appreciate why he has orchestrated such a meeting of great minds..(or perhaps not in George w's case).Infact one political correspondent described George W' s tenureship as the worst performance in modern history, and the single largest factor in making his fathers tenureship look better than it actually was....
I suppose some people would suggest that this meeting was merely a cynical publicity stunt, designed to impress the American Nation, that President elect Obama is keen to impress on the nation, that he is prepared to listen to all opinions and advice.
It begs the question in view of the current middle eastern crisis in Israel especially,..Will he make a difference once all the rhetoric quietens down.? Will he honour his pledges and will the U.S foreign policy significantly change.?
Your thoughts..?

Mumf, you seem intent on bogging us down in a war with Iran, that's twice you've mistakenly written Iran instead of Afghanistan ;D Also, the US is engaged in at least one secret war in somalia, and probably a couple more we don't even know about.
Oh, and no, I doubt there will be any change in policy, it seems "continuity" is the new buzz word around washington.

FFS there is no such word as "tenureship". The word is "tenure" which means "term, possession, residence or occupancy".
The use of "tenureship" has been popular since smartarse footballers and thicko stupid soccer media pundits, trying to sound intelligent, used it when Kean lost his so called "tenureship" at Sunderland. Rant over I'm off now to get a life.

I think Obama given time, will make a damned good President, and given the current state of the World economy his new dynamic approach may have the desired effect. I'm not so sure about Tony Blair in his new job though...

I'm not sure he is going to be the Messiah that many would try and have you believe, but he will certainly be better than what we have got right now.

I personally think that Clinton handled Monica Lewinsky fantastically well and he could spell her name.
I doubt if Georgy Porgie could... Infact he'd struggle to spell his own.

I haven't fallen for the 'different face, same agenda'. The guy is has a Messiah-like, untouchable facade that has taken so many in. With that he can get up to untold evil. The only difference between him and Bush is that he is a more capable autocue reader.

Is it indeed. Just because you google "tenureship" and you get a result doesn't mean its a word. Try looking in a dictionary. However, if you are unable to use a real dictionary then try the online Oxford Dictionary and you will see there is no such word. Better still sign on for some free adult literacy classes at Newcastle College. Seems like you need it.
