Forget the above examples I did.
The lowest point in SCFC history for me?
The midweek game at Walsall when the lights went out. I'd had a stomach bug for a few days, stomach cramps and turtles' head constantly popping out etc, and didn't know if I should go. Bezza mate, Brad, convinced me to, and he drove to the M6-dome that night.
We pulled off the M6 and found a massive pub by a roundabout. Proper big Toby job. Anyway, just before we left the car I broke wind. A belter, too, one you'd all be proud of.....
Trouble was, with my tummy bug an' all, I followed through. Had just bought a pair of new CK pants - you know, the ones Nic Kamen wore in the laundrette?!
Anyway, Brad went straight to the bar, and I scurried off to the gents for a look. Kecks looked like the inside of prison cell and so had no option but to take them off and flush em down the bog.
So, in conclusion, a 3-0 loss, floodlight failure resulting in midnight arrival home, and me being commando for the 90 minutes and £10 down on a pair of posh pants. All whilst being in Division 3 (I think).
And you still reckon we're at our lowest now!!?!?!??!!?
I'm pretty sure it was 0-0 at H-T too?

What planet have you been living on since 1976?
As much as I criticise the selections and tactic, it's infinitely better than many of the past 30 years.

No - and here's why, in no particular order: - the stand roof blowing off and having to sell off the 70s team; something from which you could say we have still not fully recovered . - Stanley Matthews going to Blackpool - Losing to Port Vale throughout the 90s - the holocaust season of 1984-85; Our 17 points was a record lowest points total for years . - Losing 0-7 at home to Birmingham City - Blyth bloody Spartans - Adolf Hitler and World War Two ending our big chance of being the true 'Arsenal of the North' and halting the momentum of probably the finest Stoke team to date - going into administration and actually closing down in the first decade of the 20th century! - Losing at Rotherham every time we went there in Division 1 - The Cheating Arsenal semi-finals of the 1970s ......So I think, based on a comparison with this random selection of our lowlights from our not-so-glorious history, you could safely say that we are actually going through a halcyon period for Stoke City. I think losing a few games in our first premiership season and seeing our temperamental striker playing handbags with the club captain is a minor disappointment - certainly not a crisis or even a low point.

I'd suggest the summer of 1908 was by far the lowst point in the clubs history , we went out of business , and reformed as a non-league club

Which is wot I wrote, dave . Thanks for pinning down the year, though . (I must confess that, when I saw your name as the latest post after mine, I assumed that you were going to correct me on some minor error I made with our club's history ) HNY Ilford ;D

The season we dropped to the 3rd teir was pretty dire, losing 0-7 to brum, having a whole block to myself in the boothen with 10 mins to go. There have been many low points in Stoke history....this aint it! I cant remember looking forward to the weekend as much as I do now.

Did I just dream about the time when Alan Ball was the manager and we were struggling in the middle of the old second division then?
This is the highest point in 20+ years. Even if the worst comes to the worst and were relegated etc we'll have parachute payments etc whereas only 5 or so seasons ago we had one of the lowest wage bills in the Championship.
The football may be bog standard but get real, the club is healthier than it has been for about 34 years!

try driving 80 or 90 miles in the pissing rain, each way to watch us lose midweek to the likes of Walsall or Chesterfield or Peterborough united or Bury or Rochdale or stockport or even Crewe Or, try watching a team containing the likes of Gerry Mcmahon, Paul Stewart and Marco Gabbiadini then - you might be talking lowest ebb! I would say thats probably a bit more like our lowest ebb I couldn't have put it better myself.

Oh boy how long have you been supporting the club, would seem since about September of this year. We are in a golden period compared to the last 23 years as much as we all moan and complain about certain aspects of the managers selection policy it’s heaven on earth compared to much of the past.
If this is the lowest ebb good job you weren’t around for the rest of the recent history you’d be in a straight jacket by now being fed through a tube.

My personal lowest point was coming away from Cambridges Abbey Stadium after getting beat (I think) 3-0 or 3-1 with Ball having already been sacked and Graham Paddon in charge - we were (again I think) 17th in Divison 3.

reminds me of an arsenal fan of my acquaintance who is near suicidal at the thought of not making the champions league next season. I said to him,
"errr.. yeah, mate, it could be worse"
he said without the slightest hint of ironing...
"It would be the biggest disaster in the history of AFC and english football".....

absolutely, I've never known it so bad. Hello Alvechurch.... your a local for me!! Im in Redditch!! ;D As for a low point for you lot.... this has to be a wind up... Exact same thing was being said on wb.com site and it annoys me, anyone who has had to endure the shite of the previous 10 years before our Prem adventures will realise.... Its all these bandwagon fans who only come out of the woodwork when the team hits the big time....
