not impressed. I realise that for his debut, he had to harness winker, but he failed and got skinned. i watched him in a reserve game and again not impressed. A centre-back he may be, but he hasn't got the pace for a fullback. Hate to say this, but hurry back Griff

No trouble in open play, poor marking for the goal. Wilkinson would have been in front of Tevez. Maybe a yard or two off the pace still.
He looks and runs like Peter Hoekstra.

i often wonder what the.... 'fans who have been going Stoke for XXXX years' ...( more like 10 fucking minutes) expect of our players, in what is billed as he best league in the world.

Runs like Hoekstra and wasn't sharp enough for their goal. We need him to be the real deal though as he cost a lot of money.

Watched it on Sky + when I got back in, Davies let Ronaldo run past him far too easily IMO.

Not the best time to give him his debut? He needs two-three games to find his feet.

It's totally beyond me how anyone can judge a player after 20 minutes ;D ;D

That's what'd worry me with Dindane though.
Davies has clearly suffered with no pre-season and he looked rusty.
And if we're worried about Davies, how long would we give Dindane to make an impression, after not playing a second of competitive football for 8 months?
And when would he reach a decent level of fitness? Mid-February? March?

you'd hope our fitness team would asses him prior to us signing him, paying that much for a player the very least you should expect is that he's fit and ready to go upon signing for you.
Perhaps Pulis wants him in so he can bring him off the bench for Fuller, by the look of him he's more in the mould of Fuller than Mama, so he might be coming in as a expensive super sub for his first few months ?

Can't judge a man on 15 mins of a game even if he did good (which Davies wasn't) he at least needs 3 games to get settled & back fit. As for Dindane, the difference is Dindane has class & is actual Premiership Quality if he hadn't been injured for 8 months we wouldn't off had a chance of getting him

There is no way you can judge a player on 15 minutes agianst the best team in the World when you are down to ten men.
We might have a better chance of evaluating him on Sunday- I presume he will start.

Should never of even been given the chance to come on, totally bemused by rory coming off when we had them under the cosh with the throw ins, but even though he did come off, why not bring sonko on, someone who can throw a ball, but can sort of defend.

Ridiculous to judge him when he comes on and we're down to 10 men for the last few minutes.
If anything what led to the goal was Shawcross being caught going forward for a set piece and out of position- can't blame him as if we had 11 men on the pitch could have been a different story and had more cover.

Gave Ronaldo far more time on the ball than Wilko. Have not seen anything of him previous but if there is one thing Pulis knows its a defender. Support not criticism is the way forward at third from bottom.

"but if there is one thing Pulis knows its a defender".
he might KNOW some defenders, but clearly he hasn't got very many at the Brit has he ? In case anyone hasn't actually noticed we have a goal diff of MINUS 14, which will seriously cost us at the end of the season. OK, some of that is because we aren't scoring enough but we hardly keep clean sheets do we ?
So, my impression of knowing defenders / how to defend is rather different.
As for Davies, like others I can't see how he can be judged on 20 minutes, but I didn't see him get a single tackle in.

it's very hard to judge a player when he's come off the bench in those circumstances, has to adjust to the pace of the game and like them or not they are the champions of england, europe and the world, it would be much better to see him get a full game and see how he does.

i have to agree that 20 mins is nowhere near enough time to give an honest account of your self, but i thought rory at right back would of been a better solution as he was already upto speed with the game?

Support not criticism is the way forward at third from bottom. But he did not needlessly kick the slimy one, get sent off, and leave his team mates who ran their bollocks off, in the shit did he!! Impossible to judge him on yesterday, hopefully, if he starts tomorrow, he will put in a solid performance.
