I was born in Stoke on Trent. I'm only 18, but have been going to United since I first showed an interest in football, I think I was around 7. I had a season ticket from 11-16 till it got to much due to me being classified as an adult. I also have a job which sometimes means I'm required to work Saturdays, but whenever I can I'll apply for United tickets. Like I said, my Dad is from Manchester, and he raised me as a United fan. That's why I support them. If in 10 years time Man Ure were languishing in the bottom half of League 2, you wouldnt still claim to be a 'fan' and there'd be no mention on of your dad being a so called fan! Your a gloryhunter pal. Plain and simple!

;D Oh you have to feel sorry for these sad low lifes who live in Staffordshire but support man united because they win. Get a life you sad glory hunting twat. Yeah because Stoke is in Chesire isn't it? No, but my dad is from stoke, as is the rest of my family, my first game was against Macc Town in League One when i was 6, I went to school with lots of Man united fans who never went and I got so much shit for supporting Stoke and being loyal and having a season ticket for the last 6 years. So I'm hardly a glory hunter am I? would twintit and his dad support ManUre if they were in league One?

Twigg - the fact you are here lauding it up on our MB condemns you as a plastic glory-hunting replica shirt whore.....
Why do you feel the need to come on here justifying your existance??? REAL fans couldn;t give a damn about other clubs MBs.......
Seems you have serious inadequacy problems........would you like to share your problems???

I joined here ages ago, I think someone made a thread asking a question and I knew the answer. I know a lot of people in real life who read this forum. I came on today to give my opinion about the match, I don't think that means I am a gloryhunter at all.

kidcrewbob don't be so harsh on him. It looks like Villa will win the league this year, so will he be able to get a Villa season ticket next year or is that out of his price range? That's his problem

That's his problem It'll be to much money getting a United shirt this year, a Villa one next year and a City one the year after. I'll have to hope for the best and get a City one right now. And just hope they don't go down after spending more than any other club this transfer window.

I hate to back up a United fan, but I don't live in Stoke either (born Blythe Bridge) and I'm raising my lad to be a Stokie.
But he's only 7 at the minute and I suppose if he chooses to start following his local team (Coventry) so he can go games with his mates when he's older, I'll have to settle for that I guess.
So if what he says is true about his dad, give the lad a break, it's no different really, just a shame it's Man Utd!

Given that it's such a vibrant and successful city you have to wonder why so many people choose to leave there, resettle within travelling distance and raise their kids to be Man Utd fans . Mind you, this glut of people who "Used to live in Manchester" NEVER, but NEVER, bring their kids up to support Man City. Ah, the old ones are the best!

When I was a teenager, if my parents tried to get me to do something I'd do exactly the opposite as a point of principle (and now I complain that my teenage daughter does exactly the same as I did : .

My mum was born and raised in Manchester, her dad was a Manchester City fan in his youth, she like many of her generation had a fondness for the Reds instead, I was allowed to choice my team, and despite my mum buying me a piece of Gloryhunter scum (sorry Man United) merchandise before i had been my first football game, I still choose to follow MY local team, as Manchester was nothing to me

I think the refs have made it up to you this season by disqualifying a perfectly good goal scored for the Scouse against you, and what was that match where your defender hand balled it a mile in the box, he went down and somehow the other team got a freekick outside the area? Tottenham at home possibly. Gerrard's goal was correctly disallowed for offside, although it's only with the benefit of freeze-frame that I could tell, and to this day I'm amazed that decision went our way at Anfield. The handball incident was against Everton, a game in which we had a perfectly good goal disallowed. As we lost the game anyway, the penalty would have made no difference. We're due some SERIOUS luck to make up for today's travesty.

My Dad supports Chelsea and played for Port Vale. I'm a Stoke fan! Fair enough, but what I'm saying is, I've been going United since I had a memory. It's not like I decided to follow the best team. The problem is when your memory started Man U was the best team (well win most football games)! THAT is why you started supporting them and THAT is why we hate Man U fans!
