Is this the guy who does the mid-day show in the week?
If it is then won't be listening to THAT station anymore.

I was driving around somehwere last week and listened to part of that show last week, Mr. gaunt was quite right and the guy from the council was a right prick, the nazi comment was about mass punishment and no procedures/processes in place. I can say it but he should have worded it differently being in the position he is, something along the lines of " don't you think this idea of thinking is akin to the nazi's way of thinking"

didn't always agree with Gaunty but he said what a lot of people just thought. He made me laugh out loud at times and often wished he was a politician. Just wish it was Adrian Durham getting booted off air, can't stand the prick!

One of the few interesting shows on the station.
All we need now is for the BBC to follow suite with Jonathon Ross instead of advertiseing his return before his hearing.

I don't like Gaunt at all, the man si a moron, however you cannot sack him for this, surely?
I'd be happy if i never had to hear his opiniated bollcoks ever again but to expect a man to remain level headed when discussing a topic so personal is insane.
That said, he is a bit of a wanker. Hopefully the Sun will get rid as well. He's a racist bigoted bastard.

Jon did do a lot of good things on his show despute having some rather diverse views.
Such as helping people to take on the might of the Fiuel companies, getting them and the local councils to answer questions that most other presenters would not dare to ask.
The problem is diverse views cause contraversy which brings in listeners I am afraid. A few of them on the station are like that.
I personally don't agree with some of the stuff that Galloway drivels but we don't sack him.

surely they cant sack you for supporting a legal political party

Doesn't sound like they've sacked him as such, just that they won't be using him anymore, sounds like he was just a stand in, something akin to a supply teacher at school...... but still, it seems a bit discriminatory not to hire him due to his political views, I'm no supporter of the BNP, but seems a bit OTT imo.

Seems harsh if the below is true; www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/nov/19/talksportHowever, whilst the BNP is a legal organisation, it is a vile extremist and racist one and I am more than comfortable with membership of it precluding you from certain professions.

Sorry but aren't talk sport taking this a little bit to far. Not that I support them myself but far be it from DJs to have an opinion. Jon Gaunt and now this one.

We're back to collective punishment again, does being a member of the BNP automatically make you racist ??? I actually know of a couple of members, and they're not racist and they don't agree with a lot of the things the current leader of the party does and says... again, I'm no fan of them, I don't agree with their policies, but this is not the way to go about things. What about labour supporters ?, they support a party who bombed and and as a consequence killed over 1 million Iraqi's, would you say that is perhaps extreme ? ... if so, does that mean that labour supporters should be precluded from certain jobs ?. As much as I disagree with the BNP, they've got nothing on the leadership of the labour party when it comes to being extreme...... although, that said, if they got in power they'd probably give them a run for their money. surely this is classed as "extreme" behavior ? www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/nov/18/iraq-us-foreign-policy

Come on Serps, for a conspiracy theorist you don't dig down much do you? The BNP despite those nicely suited gentleman striding like Behemoths around Bentilee, trying to convince people otherwise, are a one issue party and everything else they stand for drips from that common theme. They are not overt about it because it's illegal to do so but dig a little, attend their little gatherings and you will find out full well what these atrocious individuals are all about. If you're not a racist and you're a member of the BNP then the only explanation is that you're extremely gullible and stupid.
On the New Labour issue, I agree entirely, Bliar is a War criminal and should be tried as such and everyone who voted for that war has some blood on their hands and I would never be a member of that party again.

I'm not saying the leadership isn't racist, or even perhaps the majority of their support, but I think it's wrong to tar all of them with the same brush, and I certainly think it's wrong to stop people who are members from working. And as I have said many times, I'm not into conspiracy theories, only conspiracy fact
