Ive been away to both Bolton and Man U and both performances have been dreadfull.
Some on here wont like it but that performance on saturday was probably the worst i have ever witnessed in 30 years.
The midfield was atrocious, cumbersome .leggy, awful passing and slow thinking.
No outlets wide,nothing.
What a change from the Rotherham game where we at least attempted to pass the ball.
This also brought the best out in Kitson.
We need to pick up a few points away to stay up including a couple of wins.
I just dont understand TPs logic sometimes.

"Thank God i don't go to away games" Thank God everybody on here doesn't start a new thread practically every time they have an opinion even though there must be about 10-15 threads on this subject in the last couple of days alone. Apart from that of course ... agreed

Yeah, why can't we play against Manchester United the way we played against Rotherham? Must be one of life's great mysteries eh?

I was there too and agree much of the play was woeful.
Bit harsh making a comparison with the Rotherham game though I think the quality of the oppo was rather different?!

Yeah, why can't we play against Manchester United the way we played against Rotherham? Must be one of life's great mysteries eh? We did play like we did against Rotherham. Rotherham at home a few years ago - you know the one. The one when the Manager sent out the team to get a 0-0 draw at home to the divisions rubbing rags.

We were completely outclassed, especially in the seond half. But I've seen far, far worse Stoke performances away from home than Saturday. I thought we competed acceptably in the first half. Many a time, especially that year under Little, we haven't even offered anything against third division opposition.
I wasn't embarrassed at all on Saturday. Although, as most people seem to agree, we will need at least a couple of away wins this season and it's difficult to see where they'll come from.
That was the case before Saturday, mind. I'm not really sure why there's so much doom and gloom after OT (yet so much optimism before). Nothing's changed.

Obviously United and |Rotherham are differing ends of the scale.
But i reckon that Stoke side that turned out at United would have struggled with Rotherham.
It really was poor im afraid.

Mark/Busta
Can you honestly say you enjoyed Saturday?
I didnt, we could have got thumped having a go not turning and passing back or aimless stuff.
I dont mind anyone fighting Stokes cause but a few have to be a bit more honest when we are cack or TP fecks up the selections.
Once your one down ,you have to score .That Stoke side couldnt even get in uniteds half never mind score.
GET REAL

Rotherham or the Shit, theres no reason why you can't keep the ball between Stopke players and pass it to feet. That way you deny a side the ball and with it the opportunity to hurt you.

The players picked are told not to do this. they are told to kick it long, preferably down the channels to get set pieces, preferably throw ins in the last third.

Kev, We were poor on Saturday but when you consider we were playing against the English and European champions what did you expect the outcome to be? Our performance and the score was what I was expecting and yes I wouldn't want to watch us get beaten 5-0 every week, but then again we aren't are we? We've taken 4 points off the 4 teams who are some of the best in Europe, thats not bad going is it? When you consider what we have been and where we now are, and where we've eventually got to get to you can comprehend just whats happened and is happening at Stoke City. Our season is not about the games we play against the top 4 it's about our next 4 games: West Brom, Hull Newcastle and Fulham. those are the teams we need to compete against and hopefully beat. One final point, remember how bad you felt at full time on Saturday then think how bad did the Arsenal Supporters feel leaving the Brit 2 weeks ago. if you don't go through the bad times the good times won't feel as sweet.

We saved our worst performance of the season for a fixture against arguably the best team in Europe.
It hurts more because it was against the team that we all love to loathe, and I too was disappointed by the way that we failed to get "in their faces" for the game.
I felt our players were overawed on the day, and too busy worrying that kicking them might cost them their prized shirt swap at the end of the game.
It hurts even more for me because my dad is a gloryhunting wanker of the highest order and having not spoken to him for months, he has visited my house today for the first time in about 5 years to remind me how crap we are.
That really hurts, but in the scheme of things Saturday's result was unimportant.
We undoubtedly have issues to address, but that is not because of our result on Saturday and more because our midfield isn't functioning as it should.

Unbelievable! think its a bit short sighted to compare the United game with Rotherham!
As for not attending away games, I was unsure whether to go Anfield at one stage, turned out to be one of the best, if not the best, decision I have ever made

MCF...I would agree that we miss a fully fit and firing Lawrence.
He has the ability to keep the ball in tight situations and is a real "out" ball when we are under pressure.
That said, and back to the gloryhunting, some little fucker has written 5-0 on my car at football tonight. If I knew who it was I would rip his head off! Wankers of the highest order! The lot of them.

It may well have been but I would have noticed it I think. If it was him I will be sure to plant a right hook on him when I see him next.
Got him with a classic retort earlier though. After telling me that "stoke really are crap", I responded with "on the day we were poor, yes, but you will see a lot worse teams at Old Trafford this season". I left that comment for about 30 seconds before adding "come to think of it, you won't because that will be your only game of the season".
He hadn't a clue how to respond and as I described him, is a glory hunting wanker of the highest order. We were close when I was a kid, but when he realised I wanted to support Stoke and not Manure (I was about 8 at the time) our relationship was soured forever.

So you missed the performaces at Middlesbourgh, Liverpool ect? How can you come to that conclusion from two games? You went to Bolton because it was the first match in the Prem and Man U because it is the biggest match of the season? Why if you dont intend to go to away matches, yes Man U was poor but did you expect anything else?
