...the closer it comes to game time, the more I think we are going to be in for a tonking. All the omens are going for us, we are on a run, they are doing shit, managers job on the line, press expecting an upset.... which can mean only one thing as a Stoke fan Sorry to put a dampener on things but I fancy Shawcross to get sent off on Sunday, especially with this ref and Owen to take full advantage of it. Please God, let me be wrong !!!!!! Am I the only one feeling like this?

Surely the reason no-one is worried is because we know that we're not going to get knocked out at the 3rd round stage by some mickey mouse lower division outfit. We can't lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do we really have anything to lose though?
We're not favourites, we're not expected to win and we certainly won't win the FA Cup.
I think it's one of those games that we ought to just turn up and enjoy. Big crowd, good atmosphere and, as long as the lads put in a decent shift, anything other than a defeat would be a massive bonus.
Turn up, Tune in, ENJOY! ;D

Just watched Lou macari on MUTV and he, when asked that this one could be the upset said, everyone in stoke is building us up for the win and that is dangerous. He hopes we win but fancies the draw or Newcastle win as everyone is expecting an upset.

bookies say newcastle are still the favourties, best i found for a stoke victory is 7/4 which means they dont think we'll get slaughetered and a win is not out of the question

I'm not particularly bothered by the threat Newcastle pose on sunday, which is probably a bad thing as it means were gonna get a tonking. I can't recall any cup match involving one of the big teams, where the big team has got as little backing as Newcastle have this week.

I'm not bothered about Toon either - as long as we put a good show on for the cameras and maybe get a replay or even snatch a win - I'll be more than happy.
League comes first though.

Funny isn't it. As a Stokie we all know what's going to happen next - Even if you're old enough to remember when we did win things; you're only thinking of Arsenal when you think about Sunday. There's every reason we should win, and every reason the Geordies should loose; our main goal threat even has another reason to want to show world+dog what he can do. What we need is 20,000+ Stokies turning up thinking we are playing West Brom - That never fails ... Just forget-your-specs /get-bladdered and pretend the stripey lot down the far end are from some small place near Birmingham ... and we're laughing. ah

and why will Ipswich ''tonk'' us?
Yes they are unbeaten at home this season but they havent played us yet, and we've only been beaten twice on the road this season and that's the least along with Watford, so I very much doubt it will be a walkover, infact it wouldn't suprise me if we went and beat them!;D

Now that it seems fuller is almost certainly going to be back I'm a bit more confident, but tbh we can't keep a clean sheet for love nor money at the moment, and i think they will score at least two, probably both viduka. Watched the nufc v derby game over chrimbo, they created plenty of chances against the bad organisation of derby, and despite organisation being one of the hallmark descriptions of a TP side, i don't see us as particularly organised in open play. Think we'll get a goal though and I at least want us to go ahead for the mental.

They look a very poor team so far this season . I think we stand a great chance , just hope we take the game to them . Not to bothered if we lose though . Would much rather see us picking up points in the Championship and keeping this run going.

as stated above we have nothing to lose, all the pressure is on newcastle, a day to enjoy, and should we lose then all i want is that we have not disgraced ourselves and i see the effort has been put in. Also it gives us an idea as to what we can expect should we get promoted. as a stokie against the big teams there will always be that part that says 'worry', but i have a sneaky feeling that just for once we are going to be the talk of the town after the game.

Nowt to worry about, our non-record in the FA cup speaks for itself, we're expected to get embarrassed as usual, so there's no pressure, but if we could pull off the miracle then it will be a fantastic day for us all

I reckon wot Bogus said is best but I'm a bit worried that we'll sit back for 90 minutes and spoil the game. I hope not.

Give me a draw anytime as they are as poor at home as they are away from home, plus it sould mean at least another £1/2 mil in the bank !!!
