hello - first time poster here.
Just wanted some help with a query about tickets from a season ticket book.
Basically i have 3 tickets available for the Everton match on Sunday (rest of the family are on holiday). Trying to sort something out by getting a few others to come along with me, but if this doesn't work then what do i do next.
Is it OK to take the season ticket book to the match, then see which voucher number it is, take out the ticket and then either give it away or sell it for a small amount to someone in the queue at the ticket office? or do you have to produce your season ticket book along with the correct ticket at the turnstile?
Sorry if i haven't made it very clear.
Cheers
Dom

You could do this yes Also maybe loan it or sell them someone you trust, a friend neighbour or work colleague maybe

OK thanks for the replies so far. There isn't really anyone left who likes football who i trust to have 3 season ticket books.
I can't remember what happened for the Villa game. I just don't want to sell the tickets to someone, and then they are refused at the turnstile by some jobsworth.
Also seems a massive waste just to let 3 seasons go empty. Especially as they are more or less in the centre of the Johns Smiths stand, top end of the lower block (not much atmosphere, apart from a few of us, but great view of the match)
So if anyone could confirm either way then that would be great.
Cheers

How will the chaps who you sell the tickets know where to sit? If they are sat in ones seat one will be very upset and will either call a steward or punch the fellow in question on the nose!!!

Cheers I have much the same problem mind you it's only one ticket for JSU block 4 ... and the car park ticket, so a package worth - i don't know £40 or so. Villa have a ticket exchange system, just a shame we aren't in that position.

Just go through the turnstiles with the people you sell the tickets too then they can give you the books back on the other side. You can also show them where the seats are then !

Surely i just just tell them the block number, row and seat. Its pretty simple. Just want to make sure its not going to cause any problems especially if i sell them.
Does anyone know if you will be able to buy tickets on the day, or will i have to arrange to meet someone at the match on Sunday?
Mensa, what are you planning to do with your ticket?

One is quite sure that one has read on ones ticket somewhere " Non transferable" If the owner of the tickets in question can not attend the game then it is a case of hard cheddar is it, is it not?

if its going to be sold out, which it probably will where is the sense in someone having spare tickets on there hands and NOT (edit) allowing someone else to have the use of them

I had a feeling you wouldn’t put something like that Mark!! I agree, my Dad can’t make the Everton game (ST holder) so I’ve had it off him and given it to a friend for nothing. Better to have fans in than empty seats.

Dom Not sure yet ... i have offered it to a neighbour, but at the end of the day it may well just be an empty seat - shame really

Exactly, makes sense to have the ground as full as possible. Also it is a complete waste. I would much prefer a football fan (not necessarily a stoke fan) to be able to watch a premier league match, then the seats be empty.
Like congletonstoke said, may just have to get someone to go through the turnstile with me to stop them from being wasted. Just is abit of a pain, as some people like to get to the ground early, some late on etc.
If anyone is interested in 3 tickets all next to each other for the game on Sunday then let me know and you can have 1st refusal on them. Looking for £50 for the 3 tickets. If no one wants them then they will be offered for free to anyone at the match who wants a ticket.
Cheers

It may get sold to some drunken yobbo or to a chap inflicted with a serious body oder problem. Can one imagine the likes of them sitting next to you?

in the boothen they say on the day which ticket stub to use, for the villa game it was number 5. do they do this in the other stands? if so your friends would need the book to know which stub to use

The random ticket number applies to all the ground.

Did you know? That it is against the the FA/ Premier league rules for a person with a ticket for a football match to consume alcohol on the way to the ground! I kid you not!

i would take the season ticket books to the match, so then i could just tear out the correct match voucher so i don't think that would be a problem. its just whether you may need to produce the season ticket book as well on entrance to the ground

Dom, the official line from the club is that you need the book to get in. My personal opinion is that you would probably be okay with just the ticket (knowing that it has been done in the past on numerous occasions by people I know). The worse case scenario is that a turnstile operator “jobsworth” would say no so you just try the next one down and then you’re okay.
A lot of them just want the easy life, it’s hardly in there interests the hassle to refuse entry (the club are hardly going to find out). Just get the fans in the ground then they can watch the game.

if its any help i just take the stub out and hand it over, never had any issues with producing the book, with the amount of fans this year i reckon they just want to get people through the turnstiles.

Dom, it would be a shame to let 3 tickets go to waste so keep up the search!!
It might be worth putting a thread on the ticket section of this board too.
