If I was to 'post' it, it would arrive quicker than Parkin does in the opposition area.

Parkin was absolutely woeful today and should not have been on the pitch for as long as he was.

I couldnt believe it when Sidibe got took off before Parkin, At least Sidibe was contributing to the team

Parkin hasn't got the fitness/stamina to be on the pitch from the kickoff. He is STILL a last 20 minutes player unfortunately. It should have been Cresswell/Sidibe up front from the start.

All this abuse of Parkin is not right! We play him in the wrong system....He is a better player than Mama and Periwinkle!

He had a great chance in the first half - and I really thought he would score as he seems very cool around the 6 yard box - I was sadly mistaken. Also, when Lawrence delivered the best cross of the game, who was under the bar trying to score? Stephen Wright!? Where were Mama and Parkin?

Agreed. Parkin proved last season (and in the first couple of games this term) that he's a goalscorer. The problem (apart from an apparent lack of stamina) is that he's expected by many to create the chances too, a la Ricardo. That's never going to happen.

I don't think Parkin had too bad a game today. The service to him was shocking, and we do not play to his strengths. His ball control is better than most at the club, as is his passing.
Aside from Fuller, none of our forwards are scoring, and I suspect few forwad men would in our system. We were set up today to play it tight and nick something off a set play. Few other players in our side would have even had the brains to think of chipping their keeper from half way, never mind the balls to do it.
Lay off the lad FFS.
Pericard though, he's another story!!!!

FAT USELESS PEICE OF SHIT!
fed up of hearing, he's best finnisher in the team, give it him in the 6yard box and he will score.
He hasnt got the pace, stamina or ability to get into the box on the odd chance he does get in the box he falls or stumbles over and looks for a penalty...Waste of money

?
Mama was terrible (again) contributed very little Parkin wasnt amazing but on the odd occasion we remembered to pass the ball to his feet he showed some good skill.
That chance he had in the 1st half, any other keeper in the CCC & its a goal - a truly amazing save -. Cresswell did little as well.
TP has banged on & on about the xmas travelling & frankley the effects of that (especially given our tiny squad) were there to see v Hull.

I thought it was really bad that many in the crowd cheered when he was subbed. Their treatment of him was worse than that they mete out to opposition players. That will do wonders for his confidence, which must be at a low ebb. When he got a genuine chance on goal he almost scored, and he is better at keeping the ball up than many of the other players.

Mama and Parkin were both at the far post and BOTH missed the ball. I remember the incident well. However, it was only Sidibe who was too far out and far too slow at the back post. Parkin, in actual fact was in the middle ground between the penalty spot and the edge of the area - no doubt unable a make a run one-tenth the distance of that which Wright had undertaken to try and get on the end of the cross. I specifically pointed this out to the friends I was sitting with when it happened. And just to add to the general theme of this thread, I thought Parkin was utterly woeful throughout the game. It's horrifying to think he makes his living out of playing football. Sure, some of the high balls were not helpful to him (as, along with an elephant, Jon Parkin is the only other mammal which can't jump!) but even when it arrived to him along the ground he still mis-controlled the ball more times than I could care to remember. "Feed the Beast and he will score"? Unfortunately, I think far too many people have been feeding this lad throughout his adult life!

I'm going to go with MrMagic on this issue.
No, not for a moment am I excusing Parkin for not working hard to get himself fit and mobile. That's inexcusable and is the reason he was cheered when he was subbed. Our fans won't take to anyone who don't give their all to the cause....and that includes not getting themselves in trim over the last six months. However, as MrMagic says, our system is not geared up to the likes of Parkin just as we've seen a long line of potentially decent forwards shown to be wanting in a Pulis system. Very few forwards can play it. That's why, when they leave here, they usually start scoring.
That's why Fuller is so vital for us...he can play the Pulis system because he's so mobile and extremely talented. The only other one we've seen was Akinbye but he didn't have Fuller's talents for knocking the ball in the net.
So, where do we go from here? I don't think we have one forward on the books who is capable of playing the Pulis system of 8-1-1 other than Ricardo and anyone who tries it will be made to look like a donkey, whether he is one or not.
If I were Pulis, I would try and get Ade back here. Not only is he the only one I've seen who is partly capable of playing the Pulis system, I also think he would compliment Fuller as a front pairing....perhaps even better than Mama does now. He'd certainly score more goals than Mama. The other alternative is for Pulis to change his system when Fuller is out for whatever reason to a straight 4-4-2 with at least one 'proper' winger.
Pigs might fly too.

ponta....only a brilliant reflex save from their keeper stopped him from scoring yesterday. Whatever his faults [and I don't make any excuses for them], he's a natural goalscorer. I, along with many others firmly believe that had he not been recalled to Hull last season, we would have made the play-offs.
By all means give him as much stick as you like for his unprofessionalism. I'll gladly join you in that but with decent service and in a different system, the bloke will score goals all day long if he kept himself fit. I'm not knocking Pulis's system either. It works as is proved that we are 4th in the league. However, that system is working only because we have Fuller who is the key to it's success. Take away Fuller and we might as well abandon the system because it just don't work with the players we have.
