I was at the Reebok and thought their first goal was a total fluke. In a curry house last night some people said the TV had described it as "Goal of the Season" already. I did not see Match of the Day. So what's the verdict?

I was at the game and saw it on match of the day. It was a total fluke. Was supposed to be a ball fired across the box but he caught it too sweet and it went in.
Pity really cus up until then we were easily matching them.

A cross..
In the prem they do hit the ball with pace to the far post, so it's not unusual to see goals like this go in.On another day it fizzes wide, which considering his position and that we'd been unlocked by the midfield pass most prem teams would then regard that as a wasted opportunity...
The smile on his face as he celebrated told you whether it was meant it or not.

I am not convinced, it looked like a fluke to me, but the shape of his body was angled towards the goal. Either way, no changin it now.

1 It was a complete fluke 2 Totally against the run of play Fluke, but not against the run of play. We had a good first 20 - 25 mins, didn't take our chances, then Bolton started to take control.

I thought total fluke at the match but after watching it on video a few times a bit of both. For me the issue was more the amount of space the lad had to put in such an excellent cross/shot. To be fair Cressie did well to even get over the lad who scored but the question is where was Wilko?

was a certain cross-I remember Granada TV raving about Kenny Dalglish scoring a wonder goal v us in the Cup. Was undoubtedly also not meant and fair play he admitted it afterwards.

Anyone who has ever crossed a ball in their life knows it was a complete fluke. The lad tried to wrap his foot around the ball and caught it with the outside of his boot.
He benefited from the fact that he tried to hit it into the box with pace, something we desperately require from a genuine wide player.
The final give away was that he hid his head in his hands in mock embarrassment as he celebrated.

Clear fluke. He's a rightback. Reminded me of 'that' Ronaldinho goal against us in 2002 WCup. When he hit it it started off as a cross, but cos he hit it so hard it swerved wickedly and NO keeper would have saved that, Buffon, Casillas, Cech.
Put the stuffing out of me, never mind the players!
