Hamilton - no other reasons other than he's really, really boring and also because he went to live in Monte Carlo or somewhere at the first hint that he should start paying a bit of tax to help repay some of the debt to a country that helped give him all he's now got. So if you could live tax free, or pay 40-50% tax I guess you would pay the tax as a thankyou for growing up in the UK? Sorry mate but what bollox, everyone hates tax, if you can avoid it you will. I think that, if I earned as much as Hamilton does (for doing nothing of any worth whatsoever in his case), I'd feel obliged to pay my taxes for the NHS, education, etc. It isn't as if there wouldn't be enough left for a more than comfortable life.

He is in the world of motorsport. Although this is nothing in your case, it is a sport in which serious injury/death is possible in every race or practice. If you are not a fan of F1, I can appreciate you think there is no point, is easy etc etc we all have our own opinions. Put it this way, it is easy to jusge as you are not/might not be in that position where is is beneficial to live tax free. Let me offer you 1 million pounds per year, either walk away with around 550,000 after tax or 1,000,000 and choose the money you have retained to fund the karting schools you came through or charities at your descretion.? Guess you would live in the UK and happily pay the tax..

I quite like Hamilton and F1 as a whole, it's an amazing concept and the margin for error is extrodinarily slim. Small mistakes can take lives! Must be thrilling to take part in. Sorry if this post is shit and pointless TurtlesHead

If, as you imply, Hamilton puts some of his massive earnings towards good causes & charities, good for him. I still find it unfair that the super-rich like him can get out of paying taxes when the likes of you & me can't.

I don't disagree with you mate, unfortunatly the more you earn the better of you tend to become. Tax free havens, free cars, gifts...etc.
Why the fuck do we work for a living eh? ;D
I hope he does put money back into where he started, obviously not all sports stars do this openly, but it would only be right to put something back into what made you. Like I said earlier, I don't disagree, but eah if is is a case of take all the money and run then it is bad news.
Take Le Tissier on his testimonial, not many footballers have the same morals.
