www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/news/display.var.2372564.0.stoke_to_make_another_fulop_move.phpStoke to make another Fulop move CommentSUNDERLAND have rejected Stoke City's £1.7m offer for Marton Fulop, but the Hungarian goalkeeper is still expected to leave the Stadium of Light within the next fortnight. Stoke boss Tony Pulis contacted Black Cats officials over the weekend to make a formal offer for Fulop, but his £1.7m bid was turned down.
Pulis is now expected to return with an offer of £2m before the end of the week, and that will be sufficient to persuade Sunderland to sell the 25-year-old shot-stopper. advertisement
Fulop, who spent seven days on loan at Stoke's Britannia Stadium last season before he was recalled by Roy Keane, made just one Premier League start last season.
He boasts 15 full international caps, but has slipped below both Craig Gordon and Darren Ward in the Sunderland pecking order and has been deemed surplus to requirements as Keane looks to restructure his squad.
The same is true of Ross Wallace, and Championship side Preston are preparing to make an approach for the transfer-listed midfielder.
Wallace was placed on the transfer list despite starting 16 of Sunderland's first 19 league games last season, and Preston boss Alan Irvine is ready to offer around £1m for the former Celtic trainee.
Meanwhile, Sunderland look certain to miss out on Daniel Guiza after Tottenham, Roma and Fenerbahce also declared an interest in the highly-rated Spain international.
Sunderland officials have discussed a possible £10m deal with Guiza's current employers, Real Mallorca, but face a seemingly impossible task to persuade the 27-year-old to move to the Stadium of Light.
Fenerbahce have already been given permission to discuss terms with Guiza's representatives, and Tottenham officials are expected to table a formal offer for the striker within the next 48 hours.
Juande Ramos is a long-term admirer, and Spurs directors Daniel Levy and Daniel Comolli were present at all of Spain's games at Euro 2008.

Good stuff- everything seems to point to him eventually signing. However, this is Stoke we are talking about!! It's gone a bit quiet on the Austin front recently hasn't it?
Also, didn't he only spend five days on loan? Friday- Tuesday I thought?!
