Malcolm, do you have the clip of your piece on Sky or a link to it? BM I'll see if I can find one, Mick. But I have got a link to a long piece which The World at One on Radio 4 did yesterday. It has an interview with myself, followed by Caroline Dineage MP, Chair of the CMS Select Committee, and then Rick Parry, Chair of the EFL. The item starts at 7mins 6secs. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001xdmlThank you Malcolm, a good listen. The pushback from this of course is bound to come from the rich and powerful who own the biggest clubs and the fans of those clubs probably outnumber the fans of all the other clubs put together several times over. So it is important that the fans of the biggest clubs can also see that this new regulator is of potential benefit to them. The owners of those biggest clubs have shown that they have little regard for the rank and file fan, and no interest in the loyalty that those fans have shown their clubs over many years, way before they came along, and way before the Premier League. They are less interested in season ticket holders or average fans from the local community paying an affordable price than they are in selling expensive tickets, merchandise and media to the global football tourists who might be different people every game. They don't care about anything other than maximising short term revenue for themselves no matter the consequences for the active fan or the health of the game as a whole. We saw the fans of the biggest clubs rebel against their owners when they wanted to form their breakaway closed shop circus. Clearly the owners didn't see that coming and it was the reaction of their fans that caused them to stop for breath, but that is all they have done, the ambition is still there. For the new regulator to be able to prevent this will appeal to the fans from the so say super clubs, but also we continue to see loyal fans of such clubs being priced out and ripped off and it would be good if the new regulator also majored on attacking this if it is to enjoy the mass support it will need. Football cannot be a free market economy like everything else because it needs wide participation to prosper and if left to those at the top who only look out for their selfish short term interest, participation in the game as a whole would diminish rapidly. They would see to it that there were only six clubs or so left in the whole country playing each other every week until everyone got bored with the circus of it all and the supply line of players dried up because there was no pyramid. BM PS - Admin can the title be changed to - New Regulator Launched or something similar because this is far more important than just parachute payments?

I've got a video of it on my phone but can't see a way of adding an attachment to a post on here from my phone . I've tried emailing it to my laptop but it's too big for an email attachment. If anyone can tell me how to do it, I will. This techy stuff is not my strength !
