Who do you suggest plays there instead? To be honest I initially thought him and Hoever should be on opposite sides at least but we’re hamstrung there aren’t we? I’d go Leris right back, Hoever left back. I’d stick Thompson back there v Preston for sure which is far from ideal as well Thompson vs Gooch is like a smallest dwarf contest in that position. They both try hard but they are far from ideal. Full backs are a very important area on the pitch but our crack team of recruitment thought it more suitable to get our 45th and 46th midfielder of the season

We defend better with the four and with no square pegs - when is Thompson back from suspension though? He's back after tonight If he sticks him straight back in at left-back then, for me, we are in trouble

The goalkeeper was good, Hoever was good, but the rest of the back 4 is awful. They look more organised at the moment but neither of our centre backs can command a 1v1, they get rolled, turned, outpaced by everything they come up against Thought Wilmot did very well today. I thought he was poor, run ragged, not fast enough, so slow on the ball... Not as bad as Rose though, the guy is awful and nearly cost us a goal again

Thought the CBs were good.
Full backs were poor and cost us I think.

Wouldn’t change the side. Losing by 1 goal to a very very good side and a deflection at that isn’t a reason to keep changing the side. We need consistency and build on an improved team performance.

Thought overall the defence did well against a very quick and direct Leeds side. First half was like the Alamo at times, but they stuck at it. No doubt that none of our defenders are capable of physically dominating the opposition forwards, too many times they drop off or allow the ball to bounce meaning 50/50 balls are common and we invariably get turned or outmuscled at least 2/3 per game. Flip side Leeds were far more aggressive at the back and we barely got a sniff of any second ball from pumping the ball in the air towards Ennis. Not physical/strong enough where it counts at either end of the pitch. The other thing is how bloody ponderous we are on the ball, we have no verve or intensity at all. Wilmot/Rose are so slow to get the ball out of their feet and play simple passes either into midfield or out to the left/right back positions and added to which those balls are generally behind the man meaning any forward momentum is lost. Played really well as a team second half, but the speed of play and passing needs to sharpen up immeasurably.

Hoever wilmot and Iversen played well. Gooch terrible Rose poor Gooch terrible for backing off Exactly, James could have ran the ball into the net and Gooch would have still been backing off. Terrible defending

Defence was good. Played well overall last night.
Far more shocking is our goal scoring record. 33 in 36 and only Rovrum and Wendies have scored less.
