Stevens is the only proper left-back we have at the club, and has generally been a complete and utter waste of a signing... He's been out with injuries more than he's been in, which makes it all the more staggering that we never brought another left-back in, the recruitment in key areas has been an absolute joke!!! Thompson has filled in a space that's not his natural position, and generally done it commendably.... Injuries or suspensions apart, I'd be tempted to keep him in the team even when (if) Stevens is back!!! Absolutely.Stevens is as slow as turning milk.

Unfortunately I concur. The error from Hoover was obviously horrendous, but why on earth, after winning a free kick on the halfway line near the touchline, did we decide to play the ball back to our goal, instead of making them defend a ball in their half.Absolutley brainless. We only win when you’re milking🤣🤣 Fuck of you.🖕(Sideways)

That booking has to be the softest I think I’ve ever seen in all my years watching stoke After 8 minutes too. Absolutely shite. If its a foul and deserves a booking, it doesn't matter whether it's the 1st or 90th minute.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-team-injury-news-9108581Thompson, aged 27, picked up a booking against Coventry on Saturday which means he will receive a two-game suspension if he is booked again in the next four matches. His tally is up to nine because the two he picked up against Ipswich Town on New Year's Day count as a red card, for which he has already served a one-match suspension. The next amnesty for yellow cards is after the 37th match of the season so Thompson has to be on his best behaviour for upcoming games against Cardiff City (away), Middlesbrough (home), Leeds United (away) and Preston North End (away).
