I like Spurs’ manager so would be fine with them winning it. Not that it’ll happen like. Have you noticed how he never makes eye contact in post match interviews?

A lot will deny it but everyone does have a second favourite football team.
A team they admire but would never actively support.
Maybe a team way above our station who we can aspire to but know deep down we never will.
For me that team is Manchester City dating from the days of Franny Lee, Mike Summerbee and Colin Bell. After that a club that suffered from the same mismanagement that us Stoke City fans have endured for years. Their demise was almost identical to ours ending up in the third tier. That, unfortunately for us, is where the similarity ends!

That, unfortunately for us, is where the similarity ends! Can't be doing with a second team myself, but each season I do find myself wanting a team to do well, due to the circumstance. Right now, that would be Villa under Unai Emery. A season or two ago, I would have happily seen them relegated. I also want Luton to stay up, because 'underdogs'. I have mixed feelings about Everton now. Last season - would have happily watched the bin fire of their relegation, this year, with two dollops of points deductions, fair play to them if they survive. I also want Leeds not to get promoted because, Leeds. Disclaimer regarding points deductions: Everton have got stung, but other teams get away with murder. Ergo, if they go down because they're rubbish, then it breaks the spell of the Premier League. If they go down whilst Man City, and others, have rinsed the system, then fair play if they stay up.

Out of any up there then Villa or Spurs. Can't stand any from Arsenal, Liverpool, Man city but sadly it will likely be one of them. Would have been Spurs until Israel decided to launch a genocide on Palestine. Shame, as I like the way they play. Would be Villa for me, but they have dropped to many points to challenge now. So out of the likely three, would prefer Man City - can't stand Arteta and even more than that, can't stand gloryhunting Liverpool fans.

I can't see anyone other than Man City winning it but would probably pick Arsenal if I had the choice - which I never could've imagined saying with Wenger as manager a recent memory.
Arteta has been under serious pressure for the sack at least a couple of times. They scraped into the top 10 under him the first two seasons, then I think it was 21/22 when they also had a poor start.
So it'd be good to see success at the top from a club sticking with their manager through 'bad' times for once. I can't see what Man Utd would gain from sacking ten Hag, or Chelsea with Pochettino.
Saying all that, it'd still be loads better if Villa or Spurs won it!

To be fair, I don't think you can blame Spurs for the actions of the current government of the state of Israel and the actions of the Israeli Defence Force. No, but Spurs fans are largely made up of Jews, a significant proportion of whom are Israeli descent and who in all likelihood support the actions of the IDF. My mate who is Jewish supports QPR and has no relations from or in Israel. Just making an important point that conflating maternal Judaism and the State of Israel is easy to conflate incorrectly. He doesn't support the actions of the IDF, FWIW, as we talking about it last week over a few pints. footnote/secondary research: "We f---ing hate Tottenham and we hate TottenÂham." The spirit of hospitality extended to both home and away supporters hadn't spread to a gaggle of Sheffield United supporters as they spilled out of a popular pre-match venue before the League Cup semi-final in 2013. One of them shouts "The Jews..." and laughs. We were leaving the Irish Centre but the irony passed her by. Yet this inconsequential incident captures two major elements of being a Spurs supporter. To fans of other clubs, Tottenham Hotspur is a Jewish club: we are the Yids. Second, when fans of other clubs use the word, it's always a term of abuse. The rest of the group left it there and decided instead to express in song their apparent disdain for Cockneys. Yorkshire rivals Leeds were known for many years as a Jewish club – another city with a large Jewish population, football mad and owned in their golden years by a Jewish family. But not Yids.A proportion of Spurs' support has long been drawn from the London Jewish community and the three chairmen since 1982 have all been Jewish businessmen with pre-existing degrees of allegiance to the club. Yet the proportion of fans who are Jewish, impossible to know precisely, is likely to be small. The best estimate is a maximum of 5 per cent of the crowd. Arsenal have at least as many Jewish fans. But they are not Yids." www.thejc.com/life-and-culture/spurs-and-the-jews-the-how-the-why-and-the-when-rd2vlg5l

Liverpool. A fiercely protective and passionate working class city. Why would anyone want them to win anything? Booing the national anthem for me. Scouse not English apparently There are, <counts on fingers> at least five reasons I can think of why Liverpool boo the national anthem; post-war fracturing of the ports, the secret policy of the Thatcherite managed decline of its industry and social services designed to make people actively leave the city, Irish immigration, Hillsborough, redrawing of the boundaries (divide and rule through the ballet box)... need I go on?

It's a completely different club with completely different values. A club that hasn't changed for me since the 70s is Arsenal though. That is eternal. Please God, don't ever let them win anything ever again.
