Another poster bringing in his average comment Truth hurts But it's not true is it? It's a guess..an assumption based on nothing. I will never understand why people seem to love writing a player off before even giving them a chance. It's just pathetic

It's just pathetic Benji described Cundle as abject (previous page) a conclusion he's drawn after THREE games I didn't see the Sunderland game, happy to accept he may have been abject in that game Saw the other two and he was perfectly decent

Assuming the fee isn't silly (hopefully less than a mill), we'll have made 30 bigger gambles than this since we came down. You can see he's got something.
I'm viewing this as a calculated gamble, that we weren't planning on, to try and liven the forward line up for the next 6 months, with us still intending to go big there in the summer. Better we do this than let the season peter out and all momentum lost.

There has been numerous times a player has just not shined at one or two clubs and excelled at another. Ennis has shown he can do it under Shumacher, Shumacher obviously likes him and it will be cheap. For me there is no bad thing in this deal. Impossible to say how he will perform for us until he gets a chance (and not just 3 or 4 games) Look at Fuller for instance, didn't do a whole lot at previous clubs then was outstanding for us. Bojan was drifting from league to league not really doing anything anywhere, looked world class for us. Just some really sad people who love being negative for no reason

Another manager bringing in his average crop, repeat This is the bigger issue for me. Rinse and repeat. We’re currently below an average side, can’t carry on with the likes of Gayle and Wes. Any average striker tucks away the chances we somehow missed last Saturday so that’ll do for me.

Ennis has been at CW for a while What time? Early enough to be the one I saw at lunchtime? Yesterday dinner time?…

got to be honest, appears to be underwhelming I understand where you are coming from, but I am sure we would have regarded Mark Stein was an underwhelming signing when we signed him from Oxford United in 91.

I’m 42 n have learned a valuable lesson this season…I won’t get excited or disappointed about a signing until I’ve seen them kick a ball in the red n white of ours…if Ennis signs I will be reserving my judgement 🔴⚪️

Wonder if Barcelona fans wrote Messi off when the 5’-7” tall centre forward signed for them as a 16 year old?

You've gotta hand it to FullerMagicHis effort and due diligence is off the scale. We could literally be signing my Nan, and within hours he'd have enough evidence, YouTube clips, Twitter reports and other data to get me genuinely excited that she could be the greatest signing of all time.... ...and she's been dead 10 years.

Football may have changed a bit in 33 years What a really weird comment As long as players are waiting Brylcream and smoking pipes, goalkeepers wear jumpers and dive 3 seconds after the ball hits the back of the net ,it will never change

Football may have changed a bit in 33 years What a really weird comment I suppose it could seem that way 😅 I just meant the days of unearthing top-class nuggets of gold in the reserves of lower division teams at the age of 25 are long gone. But I know that’s not really what you were saying

I said previously id rather sign no one than let this lot have any other go at filling the squad with failures and right now I’ll stand by that , cundle is abject , Ennis injured all season why would he suddenly make an impact and million will need time to adapt and is a big fee at this level hopefully all make an impact but track record says it’s unlikely. We both know that you don’t hope they will make an impact 😂 I’m preying they do I don’t fancy 500 mile round trips to watch port vale or Charlton or even Crewe , Wrexham and Stockport

But I know that’s not really what you were saying Fair comment mate. I think my comment was not really linked to finding gems from lower leagues that turn out good (even though I can see why it would be read like that) it was more about underwhelming signings turning out to be not so bad after all.
