Correct. They opened up half of Block 21 in the Boothen for sale on the morning of the game and when I looked online at about 11am they had sold 100 or so tickets in that block. Anyone who wanted a ticket could have got one. Fair enough but I didn't know that. So I'm not sure how well it was publicised. If they'd been open online for sale all along we might have sold more. With families being able to buy several seats together. Who knows? It's not a big deal either way It's just a bit baffling why they chose to shut the sections of the Boothen and Tile Mountain they did. That's all. I bought mine on Thursday as I wasn’t arsed about it until the recent form tbh and there was plenty of seats available together tbf.

Watched on telly as is the norm these days but it looked better and I thought it brought a better atmosphere generally

Thought gate was decent given as Gods said ..with many more STs sold ( league match books really rather than ST ) many people have already paid for what they see as their annual dose of football ..that and clubs wrecking the cup with weakened teams means it’s now become a very tough sell , even at kids for a quid unless a true top 4 prem team rocks up ..sad but true
The fact that Vale were also at home may have also influenced Stokes thinking on the likely attendance / capacity - no floating support to watch Brighton as well as possibly impacting on the availability of stewards and turnstile operators ( several doors were closed on the east stand ) perhaps being one of the reasons why tickets at the ground went off sale at 1:30
Brighton low key , but given approx 3900 away fans they ( and the home support , both present and elsewhere still required watching and policing , interesting that there was a police presence in the cut through to the canal at the incinerator
All in all decent game , expected result , perhaps of greater interest to match going fans at least ours and Sunderland’s defeat means the game up there will be on a Saturday …rather than midweek if one of us had got through
