But, no-one has yet said whether we can send him back. I'm thinking not... Then let him rot on the bench and play Junior. The Hoever situation wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t have a young player who is ready to step up and being denied the opportunity to do so.

Just drop him,if Wolves don't like it,then just recall him. We’ve loaned him for a season so I’m sure we’re financially committed for the duration. But…if the new manager benched him then c’est La vie.

Maybe an unpopular but I rate him. Hasn’t played well lately and makes some questionable decisions but there is definitely a player there. If we get the team confident and playing well Hoever offers so much threat from right back it’s worth his relative weakness when defending. He needs to be paired ideally with Lleris as our other wide forwards don’t track back (Vidigal and Campbell mainly). He’s become a bit of a target because he looks languid and has been taking some shit corners but I don’t recall us conceding any goals directly because of him. Rose on the other hand….

I think we should try to send him back in January. He hasn't been able to reproduce his form from his purple patch last season. Good luck with that, they'd have to agree wouldn't they?

His corners are abysmal……. There’s no defending them abysmal. I'd have to disagree with that...

I can’t imagine that they’d want him on our bench. They re-signed him before he came in the hopes he’d progress. If we state that he won’t be getting game time now there is a new manager in the building, I’d be surprised if a PL team would care much about his wages. His development is the big earner for them, surely?

Screw developing other talent at the expense of our own. What is the point? If we didn’t have a player who looks ready to go in this league in that position, then maybe Hoever would make sense. As it is though, I’d rather send Hoover back and play Junior there + bring in cover for Junior if we need it.

Junior is a prospect on a long contract, looks a more natural defender to me. Hoever at his best is superior technically and is more polished in his attacking and delivery. I know we’ve not seen much of it since the early season but maybe a different voice and different game plans will bring about an upturn in form.

Hopefully & why not but not playing in a back 3 we won't see that side of his game play him in an attacking role (even if that's an attacking fullback or wing back(m or not at all) Schumacher appears to use various formations as such would think Hoever could fit in sometimes at least

We start getting him to play well for a few weeks and he goes back to Wolves. Great. He’s their long-term project. We have our own, so again, sod Hoever, play Junior. He picked up 5 goals last season and it was his getting forwards that was the supposed reason that we were interested in the first place.

Wolves don’t seem overly interested in him we might end up signing him permanently. Who knows I’m sure if Junior was producing output he’d play but as yet at this level he hasn’t really looked likely to rather looking like a more solid defender and needing to improve and polish his technique and delivery in an attacking sense. He’s rather more what I’d describe as bustling not that I don’t like that attribute. I’m happy to see what the manager’s preference is. I think Hoever has just been a target of the normal oatcake assassination of anyone remotely attacking in a defensive role and I have to say his recent form has made that easy for his detractors.

He has underperformed at times but so have the rest of the team.
Some of the criticism on here is well out of order.
Hoever has a part to play under the new manager, he is at his strongest in an attacking team.

We can't just bench people because they're on loan and taking the place of a contracted player. By the same token, we can't play a loan player just because he's on loan and viewed as an expense. So, let's trust the new man to pick on ability and to fit in with his preferred formation.

Decent player with lots of potential.
Like many, he regressed massively under the coaching of our last manager.
Hopefully the next manager will be able to get him back to the level he was at early in his first loan. A good manager would improve Hoever and all of the other players.

If we get a manager in who actually wants play football we will see him do well. Very possible but also unless the new manager sees him as invaluable it will be tempting to try to send him back to spend his wages elsewhere, it's a position we're over stocked in and non of those options are awful even though I think in the sort term he's the most likely of them to produce output. I can't however prescribe to the notion that it makes any sense to play an unproductive right forward in front of him to compensate for any defensive shortcomings and there have certainly been goals conceded directly attributable to his lapses but he's in good company on that score.

But, no-one has yet said whether we can send him back. I'm thinking not... I hope that a 3421 will play to his strengths. He is quick with energy to get up and down the wing and has shown to be better going forward. Might be a resurgence for him, especially with Junior at AFCON.
