Who are the 5 utterly insane fuckers who voted Steve Bruce? Got to be joke votes surely. The fact he's even in the betting is making me sweat.

Didn’t Bilic go to some ridiculous odds on in the betting to be our manager after Rowett? Doesn’t mean a thing usually Yeah, I think it's only worth paying any attention to if it's a really sustained push from nowhere, like when Nathan Jones gradually went from unlisted to about 1/10 in about half an hour, even when he hadn't even been whispered about. Always the chance it's based on hot air, like the Bilic move shortly after the market opened that time, but at least it's something to keep an eye on The fella from the pub couldn't keep a secret could he?!

My top 3 would be 1. Potter 2. Hassenhutl 3. Nuno After that it would have to be someone young, fresh and foreign. Same, but I imagine there's no chance of Potter.

Can anyone give me a single reason Potter would even entertain a phone call ?
The bloke is favourite to be the next England manager is wanted by Utd's supposed new investors. Despite his shotlived Chelsea reign where it looked like the board signed anyone they wanted, his CV is still very impressive and he walks into any football club in the world bar the very elite.
For the life of me, I am struggling to understand how any sane person thinks he would want to come to a club fighting relegation to league 1 ? Yes he wanted the job once, he was pretty much unknown at the time. I don't think he will be thinking too much about that missed opportunity now. There is going to be alot of diappointed ppl on here, thats for sure.

Included in the statement is technical director Martin added “ the recruitment process is now underway ….” Does this suggest the replacement task has been in the pipeline for a while? It will be somebody currently without a job?
We do have individual talented players, a successful coach / manager has to develop them as a team Too much chopping and changing and players are treating games like a trial, trying to impress with their individual skills
I hope there are some leaders amongst the players who can keep everyone on task

I wolud like Potter but don't think it will happen the most realistic choices for me are Rafa Bentiez or John Eustacse or anyone I don't care who it is as long as we can keep our Championship Status which is something I never thought of writing

I'm seeing +'s & -'s in all the linked or wanted names. Do we go Foreign, Old & Experienced, Young & Keen, A dour safe pair of hands, A dynamic maverick type character?!
To add some balance to things, & from an outside our club perspective:
My bro in laws a Birmingham City fan & ST holder & messaged last night saying he hopes Eustace comes to Stoke and does well for us. He was liked at BCFC, they were annoyed as we thought they would be when he got sacked, and the resulting Rooney appointment & disastrous run has only highlighted their displeasure at sacking a manager who was doing well for them. Eustace would obviously already know the club, it's set up & expectations of what the fans & area as a whole expect. But... would he be featuring as high on people's wish lists had he not previously played for Stoke 🤔 ?!
My brothers a Villa fan & ST holder & he thinks Dean Smith would be a great fit for Stoke. He took Villa back to the Premier League & also set the stepping stones that paved the way for Brentford's resurgence & climb to the Premier League.
Not necessarily saying either of these would be my No.1 pick, but both featured in my top 4 on the poll.

Save them paying him compensation and we’d be stuck with another spoiler for a manager he’d just be Spanish instead of British.

Surprised there's such low appetite for Will Still - I wonder if we could actually a. tempt away with the project, and b. afford him.
My choice by a long shot.

Anyone changed their view?
Ralphy doesn't seem to be getting much of a mention, but most of the others seem to be on there.

I am not getting the obsession with foreign managers.
Best manager in the championship this season, easy , Kieran McKenna, British.
Best manager in the Prem , this season, more complicated, arguably, Sean Dysche, British, dealt a dog of a hand and done brilliantly . Ran very close by the Aussie at spurs, admittedly in better circumstances.
Big shout out , for Rob Edwards at Luton too , this season and last season, British.
Being bang up to date , this season, some of the best managers at spending Stoke type money, managing Stoke level players, are British.
Granted , Pep and klopp could do a great job if we were a totally different club,on another planet financially and squad wise , but that is not particularly relevant.
