Nuno ESPIRITO SANTO

Why no Potter on the poll? Yeah, I was going to include him - but seemed a bit pie-in-the-sky.

John Eustace got 5 votes and his win ratio is less than Neil’s.🤦♂️

We know it has to be British, so no point adding foreign managers to the poll - that said there is not a single British manager on that list that I would not be horrified if we appointed.

I think “who we want” and “who we get” are going to be very different.

I think Potter is more unrealistic as Nuno is on the way down and has had his payday in Saudi, whereas Potter is still probably ascending But both seem very unlikely admittedly

However I actually think Potter is probably the more realistic out of the two. Nuno - Wolves, Spurs, money spinner in Saudi Potter - Scandinavian league winner, Brighton, Chelsea, unemployed I’m not sure why people think Nuno is more attainable tbh. Just my opinion. I would actually put Rafa in there before Nuno. He loves England, loves the north and his style suits English football

I wasn’t particularly pro-Eustace before but I think the Stoke connection might help supporter relationship and he did well at Brum and at Kidderminster, albeit a much lower level.
You know a lot of them would work as good appointments for any other club, but not for us. Schumacher is a bit in the Neil mould, but he’s done a good job at a couple of clubs now. Carsley seems the type to command respect and England have done well under him, possibly out of our reach. Hassenhuttl would be my 4th choice. The rest of list is unconvincing.
It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Smith was high up the list, but he’d certainly be on the meh side. Done well at some places and not so well more recently at others.

Potter will most likely be the next England manager, he'll be biding his time until next summer when the vacancy could possibly arise.

I've been thinking these last few days who would I be most gutted out of the most likely names available that I'd be most gutted about if they became the new appointments at either Sundrland or Swansea. No-one really stood out but John Eustace was possibly a name I'd of been abit disappointed we missed out on. But then I was thinking if John Eustace hadn't played for Stoke would he be as appealing if he had no previous links tl us?! 🤔
I was gutted when Corberan joined WBA last season as always thought he'd have be a good fit for Stoke..
