Will it make any difference after the way the players were abused at Plymouth?
It is going to take a skilled leader to put them in the frame of mind where they will be keen to play for us again.

The absolute minimum I expect from any Stoke side is to leave everything on the pitch and come off it at the end of the game absolutely drained…. I haven’t seen that for YEARS , so fuck em.
Go out and prove us all wrong

Yesterday I made my mind up to not go tomorrow. But with the news of AN finally leaving… of course I’m going tomorrow!
Hoping that the players turn up & show us what they’re capable of. Do that & the fans will respond & be right behind them.
Also it’s a night game. Is a Tuesday night disco on the cards? 🕺

If you show urgency as a player, the Stoke crowd will get behind you.
Run to the ball when it goes out of play for a throw-in, don’t wander over and allow the opposition to set up.
Press high. Chase the occasional lost cause.
PASS FORWARDS.
If a Stoke team does that, they are generally well received.

That's not specific to Stoke fans mate, all football fans across the world want to see that kind of effort from the teams they follow. The bare minimum that any professional footballer should be giving, everytime he steps on a football pitch should be 100%.

Jeez, comes with the job. Cheered when you win and booed when you loose. If you’re still cheered when you loose then you’ve put in a bloody good shift. It’s not about them being keen to play for us again, it’s about personal responsibility and effort. Fans cheering their names is an added bonus.

Saw Marc Muniesa is making some kind of strange reincarnation tomorrow. Don’t get that at all being a peripheral player not exactly prolific was he? He was a decent player but dogged by injury. Where is he playing now, can’t be that old?

Depending on the line up tomorrow I can still see them playing within themselves, shit scared of getting a booed again. The support will be there from the off with Neil gone but if there is any strolling around and passive, boring football with nobody being brave I’m not sure the players will get a free ride. They have also not been good enough this season.

As a display of unity perhaps we could all sing the name of our preferred next manager?

Don’t know about other folk but I find it a quite alien concept to hold another human being in such awe, whoever they are.

We do need the crowd to step up and be the 12 th man.
But there are two ways of looking at this , I was listening to Alan pardew on talksport after some insipid, half arsed performance by some team...and he said when he was in turkey ( Greece maybe?) . Any lack of effort from the players and the owners ( never mind the fans ) were straight in there, raging in his face ,and the players faces , that the players have to be punished.
Pardew , started off all English... punished is a bit harsh isn't it?
But the owners were adamant, a half arsed performance on the pitch and half wages and double training sessions next week. And the owners on your case .
In the end , he started to see their point of view , why should a half arsed performance lead to ambivalence and apathy? Why shouldn't the players be accountable.
Totally different cultures,I know, but Stoke have been far too rewarding of apathy and a lack of fight from their players for years .
We need the players to up their work rate massively, up their mental sharpness and attitude out on the pitch and the fans to get behind them.

Much as I enjoyed him being here you are right in that it seems weirdly inappropriate - who next John Parkin???!

I think today for the limited amount of fans we had, a lot of noise was made. Loved Juniors signal to the boothen end.

I think today for the limited amount of fans we had, a lot of noise was made. Loved Juniors signal to the boothen end. I think that we are getting to the stage where the core fanbase are the ones turning up. Let's face it, there is not a lot of incentive for people to come along at the moment. I know several season ticket holders who have not attended either of the last two games and chose to do something else with their time instead.
