That's quite the narrative change isn't it?
'Promotion this season or next' to 'we're only 3 points off 14th' in the space of 15 months.
Wake up Coates, he's mugging you off.

Get gone fool. I'm normally fighting for honours... bollocks. Would you take Pulis back on a 6 month contract in order to get rid of AN with a new manager coming in before the summer transfer window? Not really no. I think TP's time is over as a manager. Did a great job (didn't like him or his methods but did an amazing job) but we need to move on. I think Ryan Mason is an interesting one. He has something about him. Would love Cooper or Potter but I doubt they are coming here, especially the latter.

Obviously Alex thinks 14th is fighting for honours. Why oh why are we lumbered with this pillock. Come on John, jokes gone on long enough son.

I like him, seems honest and players like him. I'd have him defo.

Yeah fair point. Too many players under 6 foot 5 for the liking of Tony 😆 One thing you can say about TP is that he had an identity and wanted his teams to play a certain way. A lot of the time it wasn't pretty but it was effective. Look at big Ange at Spurs - it's his way or nothing and the players have totally brought in to his philosophy. This current clown offers us nothing. We lurch from one game to another with no clear vision. We'll win on Saturday, I'm convinced, but he should be no where near our club. Totally the wrong man for the job.

It just hasn't worked out for AN for whatever reason and I agree he needs to go now before it gets worse. Just gutting its another bollox season over before crimbo. Its not been fun following stoke for far too long now so those fools upstairs need to start getting their act together.

In summary he hasn’t got a fucking scooby!

Season is written off anyway, bar a relegation scrap. Either way there’s a positive….if we win 3 points closer to safety, if we lose one game closer to him being gone. Worst outcome is a draw.

Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea games are like him being on death row. Lose them and that's him in the chair. No more stays of execution. "What do you want for your final breakfast Alex?"

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-sheffield-wednesday-neil-8960700"I can do all the talking I want. When you say judge me after 10 or 20 games and all that sort of stuff, I think you get judged all the time anyway" "People talk about projects, people talk about time, and letting things run their course and see where it gets to, but you need to win enough games to see where it gets to. I'm not naive. I've been in this job a long time and I know exactly what it looks like" "I haven't spent much time at the bottom of the league, I'm normally towards the top, fighting for honours" "It's been frustrating, and the players would say the same because I don't think everything we've served up has been garbage, although some people may lead you to believe that" "But ultimately it's results and points and Saturday is a big, big game for us" all i picked up from that De Profundis stream of consciousness was the word 'garbage'

Not confident in the slightest but feel we can scrape a win in this one he needs a minimum of 4 points out of the next two home games for me as I can’t see us beating west brom at their place.

We'll have to really bad to lose to these. Then we must be "really bad", because we could lose just as easily as we could to the two we just lost to. However I predicted three points (from draws) from those three allegedly easy games against teams, and so far the club has delivered none. So I'll try to be someone else and predict an excessive win vs Wednesday. 6-1 to Stoke.

Absolutely no reason why we should not win this game in a normal course of events and there will be no excuse if we contrive to lose it. He shouldn't even be around for the post-match press conference if we do lose, simple as that.

The fact of the matter is that the pressure heaped on is due to the shite we have been served up over the course of the season. You would expect to pick up a couple of wins against Sheff We’d/Swansea if we were in any kind of firm. We are not, the fans are close to revolt and Sheff Wed specifically will come bouyed by winning last time out v Blackburn. All the makings of a genuinely depressing home defeat.

Yep, I think SCFC fans are on the brink, so going down to an early goal will just result in a toxic crowd and a nailed-on defeat. As much as we're disappointed with AN we have to get behind the team, even if losing

Sometimes I think, even Stoke can’t f&+k this up, but then I remember the many, many times they’ve gone on to do so. That being said, I anticipate a win tomorrow and if it is not achieved Neil has nowhere left to go save out the door.

As it happens, these were more or less his own words just after his last game before being sacked by Preston: “If I'm being brutally honest, at the moment I haven't got a scooby-doo what the best team is. Because what happens is, what I get from one week to the next, God knows.”
