Some seem obsessed still with everything he does then accuse him of looking for attention when they're the ones stalking him and following him onine etc đ Oh yh he doesnât look for attention ,putting stupid images all over the internet,a professional who kids look up to people will follow him because the position he is in. Saying all this would anyone give him the time of day and if he didnât speak out, he would be known as much as any other Irish player. He doesn't put them all over the internet He has his own Twitter etc and you don't have to look at You're the one giving him the time of day, posting about him.

Never been a fan of James simply on the basis he does stuff like this and owns it and then in 6 months time he will then complain about sectarian abuse.
He doesn't really take responsibility for his own actions. I don't agree with sectarian abuse but I think if you're constantly antagonising others then you're pretty much inciting any abuse which does come your way. Basically doesn't do himself favours.
With that said, feck the monarchy!

We were shirt sponsors for James McClean when he was at Stoke and having met him you honestly couldn't wish to meet a nicer bloke. Very quietly spoken, humble and actually very intelligent. And quite frankly right now in this country we all need to wake up and smell the roses/coffee because radical political change is needed more than ever. As my Grandad (a master potter for Doulton & Wedgewood) once said, what this country needs is a revolution......and funny it still needs one!!!

Politics follows this guy around because he chooses it to. Sold his soul playing in a country he detests and courts the attention of people back home with his controversial outpourings.

I have no issue with monarchy or anti monarchy songs itâs all a bit childish either wayâŚ.thatâs not my pointâŚmy point is a professional(lol) footballer should be professional enough not to join inâŚbut he knew that of courseâŚI mean is Lizzieâs in a box chant more crass than fuck the pope and the iraâŚI would say they are both on a par and as childish as each otherâŚhe seems to have a problem with one but not the otherâŚ.he is just a opinionated knob really isnât he and a pretty unlikable human being through his demeanour on the pitch and his badly thought out social media posts

It's a completely valid position to be anti-monarchy. The British monarchy and aristocracy repeatedly fucked over the Irish, so it shouldn't be any surprise that the Irish are not exactly fond of them. Can't really blame them.
The only weird thing is that so many English folk don't feel the same. Unless your ancestors were aristocracy, they would have had centuries of grinding poverty, serfdom, famines, harsh taxation, brutally unfair laws and being sent to fight wars against other monarchies. It's only some weird Stockholm syndrome that keeps our people waving the flag of the very establishment who did this to us.

And Cromwell was certainly no fan of the monarchy.

But itâs historyâŚthe Japanese and the Germans did some terrible things to British people, I do not feel any ill feeling towards them as why would I, my grandfather was in a concentration camp in Italy and the other fought in Burma, the people who did these crimes are dead and itâs not their relations faultâŚthe German and Japanese people are some of the most peaceful on earth nowâŚwe spend too long looking back at things instead of looking forwardâŚ.I mean the Irish hate Cromwell hahahaâŚ.ffs the world has enough current problems without thinking back that far. JM is not old enough to remember the real troubles he has just taken it upon himself and his beloved Derry to make himself a voice that belongs in the pastâŚthere were atrocities committed by both sidesâŚwe have relative peace now so why keep bringing this nonsense up

I have no issues with any of his stances whatsoever.
The only issues I have is he's a bang average footballer but he's made the best of his limited ability and forged a good career in the game so good luck to him......

What a shocker đ 1.He didnât need to be and heâs got enough courage to not feel the need to blow smoke yo the arses of sponsors. 2. I gave him a book written by Don Mullan, author of Bloody Sunday & A Hero Who Could Fly (the book I gave him) of the same parish as James & we had a ver interesting conversation.
