Would he do as well? I don’t think he’s League Two standard so I think you’re right but I don’t think he’d be as good at that level. I haven’t seen Simkin play in a league game so can’t pass specific judgment. I did watch him play for Solihull in a pre-season game against Walsall a few months ago. I thought his handling was good and he was good with his feet but that he looked small and struggled a bit on set pieces in a crowded box. He also got a right bollocking from their captain for not coming out to deal with a ball over the top. I’m pleased it’s going well for him there but a toughening up loan in the Conference is exactly what he needs, not to be thrown into the Championship in front of 25,000 people. And I absolutely agree but I still would rather than that Bonham ideally. But hope we don’t do it.

I'm not sure Jed Steer would be much of an upgrade to be honest, when I've seem him for Villa or West Brom he's looked average at best, I think Steer would want a longer contract too
De Gea I heard was going to Birmingham but Man United looks more likely as Onana looks awful!
I'm afraid I think we are stuck with Jack until Jan, hopefully then Travers will return

Why it would allow us to get an emergency loan….. Making Blondy or Fielding an in game injury from first choice. Blondy isn’t in the squad and isn’t u21. He’s irrelevant.

whats stopping us buying Travers in January? Bournemouth? It seemed quite clear that he was never a permanent option. They bought in an old keeper and sent out their younger one so he could get more match day experience.

whats stopping us buying Travers in January? What stopped us in the summer? Bournemouth obviously. They also recalled him from a loan at Swindon a couple of years ago. They have previous. I agree that we should never have started with a loan keeper as no.1, left ourselves wide open.

And if it’s because they rate him then why would that change in Jan? They’ve done nothing wrong as far as I can see. We’ve just had our pants pulled down as usual.

Ah just logged on for the first time in ages and straight away its Bayern spouting his same old depressingly boring bile. Why do you consider everything at Stoke so shit, genuine question is there anything that Stoke do that you like? How the hell of we had our pants pulled down? Its just incredibly bad luck. Keepers are very rarely recalled back from loan spells by Premier League clubs, it was a very unlikely set of circumstance that have led to this happening. We could have just as easily made a permanent signing and they suffered an injury that saw them miss out for just as long. Also how easy is it to get a decent back up to join a Championship club to know full well that they are likely to spend the majority of the season sat on the bench? The management team know Bonham and know he is a good character around the place and a decent professional. Its just bad luck that we have to put behind us, and hope that we the 10 out field players can continue to improve and make sure Bonham isn't to busy.

It’s a situation we have allowed to happen through incompetence.

I've heard of worse suggestions than that. Deal until January and sell it to him as a shop window job. I know it’s highly unlikely, but if we say, come and play for us for 2 months or whatever and we will give you a million.. I just might tempt him And screw our ffp up in one swoop.

As soon as anything goes wrong your on it like a fly on a steaming turd. Where have you been the last 160 years? We are Stoke City we bounce around between the top 2 divisions like about 40 others teams with about 5 or 6 that are always pretty much at the top. It ain't going to change unless we jump into bed with the Saudi's get used to it and enjoy the ride.

If we can bring in an emergency outside the window loan, I think Ethan Horvath at Nottingham Forest might be one we could get. He played 44 times for Luton when they won promotion via the playoffs, and wasn’t named to Forest’s 25 man squad.

For me though I love the club. It's not about owners, or manager or players, its about us fans and being part of something whether we are shit or not at getting points to move up and down a couple of league tables. Families like mine who have supported the club for far longer than most of us remember and will continue to go on supporting for years to come through my kids. Stop spending your life on here talking daft shit.

Why not? He's a free agent 😃 Can you imagine 😁 It'd certainly get us some publicity that's for sure. And De Gea would defo get some shot stopping practice in 😆

I thing the bigger concern should be if Bonham gets injured. Then we really are in trouble as we’re left with Fielding - Isn’t he more a coach Blondy - Who by all accounts is terrible We simply have to get someone in. We’d be allowed to sign an emergency loan. Blondy hasn’t been named in the 25. It’s actually the ideal scenario imho We could only get an emergency loan if both Bonham and Fielding get injured, one goalie is all the EFL requires.

Why not? He's a free agent 😃 He doesn’t need the money for a start but even so him signing for the wages we could offer, even on a short-term deal, would massively impact his negations with clubs more suitable for his level. Why would they pay the amount he really commands if he’s agreed to sign for us for such a paltry amount on a short term deal. He’ll have had way, way better offers than us. It’s not realistic for any party and ridiculous that some think it’s remotely possible. Ba Hum bug. Dream a little chief 😊
