This is one of the games there was a clear plan, we went for it from the off. If not Gayle then who, people were ranting to get Campbell off, it's either Wesley or Gayle. If not Gayle then: * Wesley * Lowe * Leave Campbell on * Jojic playing as a false nine * Leris playing as a false fifteen * Pearson playing up top as a target man * Bonham leading the line as a nifty trequartista * Ole T Albrigsten taking time off from the police force to make his debut * The late great John Inman playing in the half-space and shouting "I'm free" all the time * A stillborn baby in a jar * The remains of a fox that has been hit by a fire engine * Diana Ross In that order. Diana Ross is great up front! đź‘€

Yes, I would've brought Wesley on. For all his limitations he appears to sometimes be aware of where the ball is. As for Lowe's scoring record, have you seen Gayle's goalscoring record? 50 goals in 107 champ games? He's still more likely than Lowe. Fair does, I should've added "with us" to the end of my question. 3 in 38 if Wikipedia is to be believed. I'm unsure how you can defend him being selected as our second choice striker tonight - it was one of the worst sub performances I have ever seen. Only Pennant's special v Everton at the Brit springs to mind as being worse.

Because Wesley hasn't looked a goal scorer and there is no one else, it's that simple really, hopefully we stick with Campbell for now and Mmaee gets up to speed soon.

It's not just about goalscoring. If our lone striker is unable to trap the ball and keep hold of it (which Gayle absolutely could not do tonight) then we as a team are very unlikely to score, as we won't have the ball.

Campbell is totally unsuited to playing down the middle and challenging for the ball in the air. However, Wesley needs service from the wings and with the wing back set up tonight that wasn’t going to happen. I think Neil ran out of options but Haks, Wesley and and Campbell as a front three would have occupied them more. However, our full back situation is dire and he was forced to play three at the back. Yes, he could have played Gooch on the left and Junior on the right but I think he’s being careful with Junior and Johnson was our best player. Stevens and Hoever playing would have enabled us to go to a back four. It’ll happen. Let’s get the walking wounded back asap.

I don't have the sense his career is about to enjoy a delicate late bloom.

Got home to North Manchester literally 25 minutes after the game and I was parked in spitting distance of the ground. Never known a ground with so little traffic after the game it was great….. Yeah we thought similar but got stuck in traffic heading towards the 62 for 15 or 20 mins. Was still a lot quieter than I thought it would be.

Just leaving myself and Frustration is the word We weren’t bad we created chance after chance and put the ball in the bet 4 times which two were offside We can’t defend set pieces is the issue ….the game plan is fine Disagree mate. I’ve just got home and I don’t know what the game plan is and we still don’t have the players to break teams down. Hudds were shit and we weren’t much better

Same as Norwich What is the game plan!? Are we a pressing side or an on the counter attacking side or just keep the ball plan? Gayle I ask you. What a mess this managers mind is This is one of the games there was a clear plan, we went for it from the off. If not Gayle then who, people were ranting to get Campbell off, it's either Wesley or Gayle. We are still playing players out of position. We lacked a cutting edge

I like Rose but seems as though a lot had McNally in there teams but can’t see why. Kept jumping in and trying to win the ball and got docked about 4 times. Just hold your ground and make the player play backwards Was it Rose who allowed their man a free hit for the second goal? Just not convinced by either of them. Felt like we needed a big tough centre half during the summer window & we got a couple of softies. Rose was inept for their goal costing us 3 points. Schoolboy defending at championship level, no idea what he was thinking in leaving his man with a free hit. Burger just as bad by sitting on his arse and allowing the cross. The charity that is Stoke City for a very long time now.
