Apart from that great opportunity near the end, I thought he played well tonight!!! He's got to hit the target from there though, or at least put it across the goal for someone else to stab home!!!

I've never felt more hoodwinked by a player. There was 7 or 8 games last season where I thought we were on to something with him. Especially on a Freemans.
I'm not sure what has gone wrong but for me he has shown some elements of cowardice and reluctance to involve himself in games since then.
He's a good times captain I fear.

Very poor first half, not on form, needs dropping Definitely needs a spell out of the team - what he's producing at the moment is dross. There's a player there but he is on a very poor run of form.

My biggest frustration is he gets in front of his opposing midfielder and ends up losing the ball because he’s too occupied with going to ground.
He’s a big, powerful midfielder that’s can carry the ball, just fucking stay on your feet and get on with the game……

If it’s an agenda to think Laurent has been woeful in the majority of our games then I’ve an agenda… If it's an agenda to think Laurent is akin to pudenda then I've a pudenda agenda* *Saw Pudenda Agenda supporting World of Twist etc

He's very ponderous, like when he lost the ball that nearly cost us at the end. You can't expect more time to weigh up what you might like to do in those situations.

He made some good runs, but overall was poor.
That shot at the end summed his game up, got into a great position, but completely wrong decision made.

Captain? He shouldn't even be in The squad.

I'm afraid it's becoming very apparent that he's a bit of a flat track bully.
On the rare occasions we get a couple up or in games where we just match up well against the opposition he's going to play well, bag a goal or two and look like a powerful runner. But how often will it be there when you need it in a tight game? There's always glimpses but those little flickers are snuffed out all too often by a shocking touch or a wayward shot or falling over.
I thought he was pretty poor last night, so many bad touches and poor decisions. Nowhere near as bad as his Millwall performance, which was truly abject, but not good enough to cut it, not good enough to give your ball player (Burger) space to operate in.
I don't know, this midfield, it's just a never ending list of players who come in, look good for a few games then fall off a cliff. Going back a decade.

He looked lazy last night tbh as did his best buddy. Many times we hear of AN pressing team argument but both of them didnt do it at all last night when out of possession and the ball near.

How anyone can defend him, I don’t know. For a captain he is atrocious.

Needs to be a league lower so he can do it every week. Another player with questionable stomach.

In amongst the lack of tactical nous, questionable tactics, and strange team selections, giving Laurent the captaincy, is another 'black mark' against the manager.

I’ve avoided criticising him until now as I thought there was a player in there but his performances this season are inexcusable. For a captain his body language is just awful, he lacks effort when he should be leading from the front. He has the physique to boss midfields with the right attitude but he has the wrong attitude and is looking a rayt pussy. Drop him now and strip of the captaincy, he ain’t the man.

I think people go a bit over the top with the Laurent criticism and I reckon it’s because he has sort of languid body language. But he absolutely does work hard and puts himself about the pitch.
Aside from his body language, I don’t actually think he’s very good at football. For me he plays as an anchor or he doesn’t play at all. Right now that holding role is Pearson and so I think Laurent needs benching. Does AN have the balls to drop him?

Not sure how he keeps getting picked, there's nothing positive to say about him.

He can't read a game, he doesn't use his physicality, he's not a leader, he's not great technically, and he needs a second longer on the ball than he's allowed, every time. Apart from all of that...

He was hiding for much of the game. When he had the ball he couldn't get rid of it quickly enough.

Saying that, I would love to see his stats, I’d say he would be up there in the top 2-3 for distance covered per game. I don’t really rate the guy, to be clear. I think he’s very limited as a footballer but no denying he’s a fantastic athlete.
