If we have all players available that is Travers Gooch Wilmot McNally Stevens Pearson Burger Bae Leris Mmaee Vidigal Vidigal won't be fit will he? As usual we get no sensible official comment on his injury. But I don't think the club would have gone to the trouble of recording that 'I'll be back soon' video, unless 'soon' was some time away!!

It’s 4 weeks from sustaining the injury so could be worse but some critical games to come

5 at the back highly likely at Norwich huddersfield is a truly critical game in terms of how he approaches it im afraid we are are likely to go under possibly quiet heavily at Norwich they are a bit susceptible to the one thing we can’t do bullying as Rotherham proved in a pass and move game make the pitch big game I fear we are are perfect opposition for them
Huddersfield will be more typical warnivk will see all our weakness at being bullied and it will be typical of a Lowe championship away game how we cope after two lessons will be critical,

Given the fact he has not seen all the new players in a 532 I can see him going for this formation at Norwich?
He needs something from the game and I just can’t see him leaving us exposed in a back 4?
I think it will be:
Travers Gooch Willmot McNally Rose……..or Clarke? Stevens Pearson Burger Bae Wes Vidigal
Just thinking 🤔

Depends if Videgal fit If he isn't then depends on of Haksabanovic gets a go on the wing If answer no to both then probably wing backs but with only 3 centre backs, and no option of Stevens, that's a risk Joon Ho has to start after last week, impressed

I don't mean to be negative, but Bonham in goal sends a shudder.
What is Fielding actually like? Or the young lad Houston?
If Travers is injured and we knew he would be at some point we effectively have a massive disadvantage. Gods knows why we didnt get better cover.

Slightly concerned that people are putting Bonham in goal. Do we know that Travers is injured?

Without knowing what condition Travers, Stevens, Vidigal and Mmaee are in, hard to say.
We seem to have found ourselves in the position where Wes, who doesn't look like he's a goalscorer, is pretty much the only option to play down the middle unless we go for Gayle.
I don't think these were the types of games we envisaged Wes being the answer?
I'd be tempted to find a space for Johnson and Bae -but even that is complicated by the fact Johnson will be late back arriving from Jamaica duty.
Assuming those four are out (which may be wildly wrong)
Bonham
Hoever Wilmot McNally Gooch
Pearson Burger Johnson
Campbell Gayle Bae

That's not the most physical frontline I've ever seen Think Sead may get a run out. Wouldn't be against that - but the thought of Wes and Leris being 2/3 of the attack doesn't give you much confidence of goals on the counter-attack. Leris doesn't carry anywhere near the same goal threat as Brown, does he? And Gayle was a part of the best away displays last season at Preston, Swansea, Boro, Cov and Sunderland. Wes' lack of mobility is a concern in this type of game.

Yeah - fair point. Just shows how many questions there still are about how we'll be shaping up once we're more settled, with a RB who isn't really a defender, and a RW who doesn't, historically, seem to really offer a goal threat in a 4-3-3. Not ideal. A lot is going to hinge on Mmaee as the Wes alternative.

Sad to see all the acceptance of Bae being used as a wide forward and not an AM. Need to get more creativity into the team not just change personnel.

Why isn't Fielding being considered in the potential absence of Travers? Is he really that bad compared to Bonnam.Seem to me that the guy is literally stealing a living at Stoke

I hope Bae is used centrally longer-term - but in Vidigal's absence, I can see the case for using him wide on Saturday when we've got a decent option in Johnson to play AM.
Haksabanovic on the left and Bae on the right is an option too.
If you play Wes and Leris, it's arguably an acceptance that 2/3 of your attack aren't a goal threat or a real threat on the counter
Guessing the team is pretty much a fool's errand until we know more about the injury situation, and how prepared he'd be to start Johnson if he can't train until Friday- or Haksabanovic with very limited minutes under his belt this season.
Campbell had an awful game last time out, but we look decidedly light in potential goals when you don't pencil him in for this type of game

Definitely keen on seeing what Haksabanovic can do at LW. Gooch at RB makes sense too but honestly I’d love to give Tchamadeu his debut and see what he’s like at this level too. If Vidigal is out, then yes I would start Haks at LW. Ultimately though, Haks should be tussling with Bae for the central AM role as I think that is probably Hak’s best position.

Is he really that bad compared to Bonnam.Seem to me that the guy is literally stealing a living at Stoke Because he's a glorified cheerleader for the other 2 keepers, and I'm sure he helps with the development of the younger keepers when they're in the building. But let's be blunt he's barely a professional footballer these days.......
